I will be living by myself for the first time. I have to move to a different city so I can keep studying. I have always lived in a not-so-big town and we only have one parish. There are not many activities for young adults and there are no youth groups.
These last years I had to face depressive episodes (I couldn’t hide it from my family, my grades were dropping and I wasn’t able to control the situation by myself anymore) and I am somewhat of a socially anxious/awkward person (I got better over time yet my anxiety keeps being a bit restricting in diverse aspects of my life). I guess this is what it has been chosen for me to carry.
Anyway, after some reflecting and inner prayer I decided to try to get involved in a near parish to avoid my tendency to isolation and depression. Looking for a Eucharistic Adoration place, volunteering work or finding a youth group seem good choices. After some research, I think I have founded a Theresian youth movement group in the city. It was founded by Saint Pedro Poveda (there is a web site with information about him: Home ) and it is inspired by St. Therese of Jesus.
I have fears and doubts. I am wondering if their charisma would be the right one for me, although I made the determination of working on my flaws and going where the people is, not waiting for the people to come to me, even if it is hard for me. I think I have nothing to lose for asking and learn about the group. I feel lost after stray away many times, far from the Lord and worth of coming back, but maybe this is a call for walking back or something.
The question is, could someone sharing information or explain something about Theresian spirituality?
I appreciate every single response to my post. Thanks and have a nice day everyone.
