There is a scripture passage somewhere in the NT that if we believe something to be a sin, then it IS a sin. Can anyone help me find the chapter and verse?

off the top of my head Rom 14 comes to mind.

1 Corinthians 8 about not eating meat.

Romans 2:15
since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.)

Romans 14:23
But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

This doesn’t quite fit, but here it is anyway:
%between%
John 8:34

Jesus answered them: Amen, amen I say unto you: that whosoever committeth sin, is the servant of sin.

In Number 19, knowingly committing a sin was unforgivable. But un-knowingly committing the same sin was atoned with a simple sacrifice.

I realize this is the OT, but it reveals many of the truths of the New Covenant.

Is it James 4:17?
17Whoever knows what is right to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

Daniel Marsh referenced Romans 14. I think the verse in that chapter that comes closest to expressing what you’re looking for is verse 14:

“I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but it is unclean for any one who thinks it unclean.”
