Looking for a scripture

I cant find a passage I once read. It is in the NT, and has to do with the salvation of people who dont neccessarily know God formally only because of never hearing or being taght of Him, but never the less live in a way as to be saved.

I am thinking it is Paul, but not sure and seem to remember a reference about men of babylon who, though were among the ungodly and didnt know God, still did not act like them. Or something to that nature.

The only thing that comes to mind is: The Natural Law

Here Paul talks about the Natural Law of God written on the hearts of Gentiles and God working with them through their conscience.

That is relavent, but not what i remember. I will give it another search and see if i can come up with it. It was like one of those discoveries at the time and meant to come back to it later. Too much time went by.

Acts 17:22 and following verses, where Paul is talking to the Athenians, may apply somewhat.
