Looking for a specific necklace

I am trying to find a specific necklace that I am having trouble finding. It is a leather rope with a leather square patch on it. It does have some writing on it but I am not sure what it says. My friend lost his this summer while we were hanging out and I am going to get him another one for Christmas. Any help is welcome, thank you very much.

What you’re describing, sounds a bit like a Brown Scapular. But I’ve never seen one made of leather.

The ones we wear, are cloth.

Can you give any more specific details of the one your friend lost?

If so, you can get those from a variety of stores online. Just google “Brown Scapular.” I’ve never seen a leather one before; usually they are cloth.
