I am looking for a two or three year, preferably chronological Catholic reading plan.

One year plans seemed to condensed and packed. So, I am thinking a two or three year will allow me to take my time.

I use a NABRE bible if that matters.

Thank you for your reply.

I should have been more specific I am thinking.

While the lectionary does indeed have a three year cycle, it does not go through the whole bible, every chapter through every book. That is what I am looking for.

I read the Bible in about 13 1/2 months. I read three chapters most days, six chapters in Psalms. Here and there I would add or subtract chapters where it made sense - like if I had four chapters left to finish a book, I would read four instead of three. I used the USCCB online Bible, and read also the explanatory footnotes which were often helpful in understanding the text. Enjoy the journey!

You can read the whole Bible in one year in this way:
  • 5 days a week (Mon. through Fri.) for 52 weeks is 260 days.
  • 1 chapter per day from the New Testament (260 chapters)
  • 4 chapters/day from the Old Testament, except 5 chapters/day for Psalms and Wisdom (1074 chapters).
Why read only on weekdays? So that, if you fall behind in the readings, you can catch-up on the week-end.
