Do you know if there’s an audio recording available of the complete Catholic Bible? The only ones I’ve been able to find either just have the NT, or the complete Protestant canon (usually the NIV). I’d like to get either the Jerusalem translation or the RSV on CD (w/ Apocrypha & Deuterocanonicals).

Is there an English-language audio edition of the complete CE Bible? I’m beginning to have doubts.😦 I hope you can help me. I’ll ask one of the RCIA parishoners tonight. If I hear of any I’ll let you know.

I ended up finding the KJV and use that when I want to listen to the Bible on a plane etc.,

I see you are in Toronto. check with the CNIB. they might know where to get ahold of one. another possibility is Blackstone Audio books

I looked into the same thing a while ago and could not find one. Catholic Answers told me they are not aware of the existance of one.

I ended up buying the Listener’s Bible narrated by Max McClane (sp?). But you’ll need to stop and read the missing texts. It is easy listening because Max is a great narrator, and it gave me a more thorough, bigger picture look at the Bible, but I had to keep in mind that it may not be worded quite right, or translated quite right, etc. Still, it met its purpose for me (looking at the salvation history of mankind, and giving me a much better feel for chronology, people of the Bible, etc).

One other thought.

What ever you end up getting, I found out that the MP3 version is about 1/3 the cost of the audio cd version. Mine came on about 10 discs, instead of about 70 discs for the cd version. You could save enough money buying the MP3 version, that you could actually buy a portable MP3 player with the savings, if you don’t already have one…just a thought.

You know it would be really neat to have Catholic Bibles narrated by Charton Heaston or James Earl Jones. Maybe someday. I have purchased the World English Bible in MP3 format (just 2 CDs) from audiotreasure.com/ . You can download them for free. There are other free versions available.

I know Saint Joseph Communications has the NT RSVCE and the OT in Douay-Rheims Bible. However, I think they only offer the OT on tape right now. You might want to check them out. www.saintjoe.com

I went to the St. Joseph’s site prior to coming here tonight. Turns out they do sell the complete Catholic Bible w/ Apocypha in audio format! You can buy the Douay-Rheims recording there. The Catholic Company also sells it. The bad news, however, is that it is only available on audiotapes (64 in the box), for about $200 U.S. I emailed them and asked if there are plans to release it on CDs or MP3s. I may end up purchasing the tapes if they prove to be the only option. Thanks for the note.

You might like to know that the Douay-Rheims Bible is being recorded by Steve Webb
dr.lifespringmedia.com/
He was commisioned to record it as a gift for
Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish of Bethel, Alaska
catholicbethel.blogspot.com/ By e-lectio-divina.com/
This recording was made for all Catholic parrishes for fundraising for a small fee as a download. If your interested email us at vanlimo@gmail.com
We also Have the KJV audio bible being recorded by Steve Young with all 80 books and pslam 151 which is being given as a gift to
SAINT SOPHIA RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH Bethel Alaska

The only Catholic translation that I know of that comes in complete form is the NAB audio bible, and that is available at Amazon.

I have the New American Bible revised edition as a download from audible.com. It plays nicely on my “IPOD”. I have just started but so far it has been good.

Sorry this is only the NEW Jerusalem Bible and ONLY the New Testament audio but
if you are intent on “The Jerusalem Bible” this is pretty close.

Call: Resurrection Tapes in Mpls. MN (Tele:? 612-721-7933). Took the number off the back
of my audio Bible cover. I picked these up at a Conference a long time ago.

I honestly don’t know if they are still in existence. I bought this audio Bible
(cassette tapes) probably close to 20 years ago. I have enjoyed it. I like the new
Truth & Life Dramatized Audio Bible too (RSVCE).

Resurrection Tapes (if they are still even called that) may even have the OT now for all I know.

I should have noted that this is only the NT.
I have this version. Does any one know of a time code that will guild you to the chapters? It would be nice if fast forward if you are looking for something specific.

Thank you
