Hello all,

As many of you know, my name is John Monaco. I’m 16, and going to be a senior in high school this fall. Ever since a young age, I have always yearned for the priesthood, however recently I have been taking an interest in orders, and not just the diocesan. I contacted three that have interested me, but I’m looking for the one that perfectly suits what I feel is best for me. So far I have contacted

1.) Jesuits

2.) Marians of the Immaculate Conception- marian.org/index.php?s=1

3.) The Capuchins

I’m not dissatisified with these orders, however I’m favoring the Marians of the Immauclate Conception. Is there another order that devotes to Mary, and is known for their missionary work?

Pax et Bonum,

John Monaco
Try the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (O.M.I.). They are involved in missionary work, especially in Africa. Lotsa good and dedicated guys in that Order. Here is their website:

God bless you and I will be praying for your vocation.

I have a son in the order-Society of our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity–. He graduated from Franciscan U at Stubenville and from Angelicum in Rome, with honors, and is presently a missionary in England.
This is the order that farther Corapi also belongs to.as well. This order is very traditional and deep in Marian tradition and Catholic faith. you would come out of this as a priest with marvelous preaching capability.
Check it out at SOLT.com or Our Lady of the most Holy Trinity site.

God bless you in your vocation endeavors.

Dear John,
Hello again! 🙂 I’m glad you haven’t yet given up on your discernment and search. Again, I’d like to take the opportunity to point a beautiful order to you (the one I’m joining, I’ll be flying ‘home’ tomorrow morning! I’m so excited 🙂 ) “The Institute of the Incarnate Word”. Mightn’t sound very Marianish to you, but we are. Not least of all, because we take a fourth vow of total consecration through Our Lady according to Montfort! Just check us out here:

www.ive.org

We’re missionary as well: In 33 different countries around the globe, after just 15 years. Our charism is “the evangelisation of the culture” - just like Jesus assumed everything authentically human in His Incarnation to redeem and uplift it, so de we aim at assuming all that is good, and authentically human in culture and bring it to Christ, and to bring Him into all the areas where He may be missing. All through Mary, of course 😉 You can read our Constitutions online on the first link, it’s available as a PDF file. It’s a great read. If you want to know anything else, I’ll be available for questions, but I guess you’re best off contacting us in the States directly (I’m going to the seminary in Italy, near Rome).

God bless and protect you in your search!
Keep it up 🙂
with love and prayers in Jesus and Mary

I am very glad that you want to become a priest. Remember the first thing as a priest is to think what is above “Heaven.” Care for your flock as well. I probably should have become a priest. But I ignored that call. Don’t ignore the call, or you might regret it for the rest of your life. Of course, I would have just become a regular priest at a local parish, and not have joined an order. Well, God bless you on your journeys. And remember the church is your wife.

Hi John, God Bless you as you answer His call.
The Fathers of Mercy, located in South Union, Kentucky, are a wonderful
group of priests and brothers. They have missionary hearts and are
totally devoted to our Blessed Mother.

God’s guidence and blessings in your search for the perfect fit.

There are the Salesians, whose founder was St. John Bosco.
He always invoked Our Lady in all his needs under the title of ‘Mary Help of Christians’
They do missionary work as well.
There are various sites that would give you a lot of information about what they do. One such site is
www.salesianvocation.com/site/index.php?section=3

I pray that God may be at your side as you take your vocation journey and help you make the right choice.
