…that states Jesus existed, performed miracles, was the Son of God, rose from the dead, but the author wasn’t Christian.

It appears Islam believes Jesus to have performed miracles, had a virgin birth, etc… The reference is to the Quran 5:110. Link. But I’m certainly no expert. Just did a web search. :o

Existed, performed miracles, half a point for virgin birth, not Christian, but not ancient, ie, contemporary-ish to Jesus.

3.5/6 Good try Marco

Wouldn’t a contemporary who believed He was the Son of God and performed miracles have become Christian?

I was thinking the same thing 😃
Two smart cookies! I have indeed given an impossible request. It is the same request that an non-believer gives when they want to dispute Jesus’s resurrection. Thanks for playing.

I want an ancient source that says that Cicero was Roman Consul, but the author wasn’t Latin speaking.

(name removed by moderator), could you get more specific with some of those quotes. I’m familiar with Pliny, for instance, but he doesn’t necessarily believe in the divinity of Christ, but he is an extra-biblical source that testified that the Christians gathered on Sunday, and he is evidence for the existence of Jesus.

There’s tons of non-Christian evidence for the existence of Jesus. The divine nature of Jesus and miracles such as the resurrection are a different story. Any contemporary who believed in the divinity of Jesus and his miracles would have no logical alternative other than conversion to Christianity, automatically making them suspect in the eyes of doubters.

Anyone who didn’t would be able to come up with something at least semi-plausible to doubters in explaining away the miracles. Not much has changed today. See Fatima for examples of modern secular “explanations” for miracles.
