Looking for Augustine or Aquinas full-length Bible commentary

Hello,

Wanting to increase my understanding of the Bible, I want to read it all the way through, from Genesis to Revelation, with an exhaustive commentary, ideally verse-by verse, but I wasn’t able to find after an hour’s look, by either St. Augustine of Hippo or St. Thomas Aquinas. Why these two? I’m heavily considering admitting to a seminary post-haste, and I feel as though I ought to acquire an appetite for these two authors, since they seem to be two of the most studied, within the seminary setting. If such commentaries don’t exist, perhaps I’ll just print up their homilies on each of the books, perhaps someone in that case could provide me a link, to homilies on Genesis thru Revelation? But now that I think about it, perhaps homilies are never spoken on the Old testament, but, I hope I’m making myself somewhat clear in what I’m asking help with…

St Thomas Aquinas wrote the ***Catena Aurea ***which is basically quotes from around 80 Church Fathers on the four Gospels. These are available in four volumes (Mine were translated by Card. Newmann - there may be other translations). However, all quotes are not to be considered as the Church’s position or official interpretation. The Church fathers were fallible like everyone else - a good resource nevertheless. You can find an online copy here:

Here are some other commentaries by Aquinas which are online:

These cover: Hebrews, 1 & 2 Corinthians, Colossians, Ephesians and Romans.

I dont know of any book by Augustine written soley on commentary, But he does provide them throught his other works. I would suggest getting a Haydock Bible. There is 1/2 to 3/4 of every page in commentary, using sources from many Father, such as Augustine and Aquinas etc.

The Catena Aurea is very good but I’m not sure if he commented directly on each book of the bible. Here’s one online - the commentary on the Book of Job. Excellent!
