Hello.

I am looking for some good books to read. I mostly read books on Catholic Spirituality, but lately I have been wanting to read some good fiction. It is hard for me to read fiction, but I feel I have been wanting to lately.

I have read Catholic authors like Greene, Endo, Waugh, Tolkien.

It doesn’t have to be Catholic literature, but something good nonetheless.

👍 I read Father Elijah, it was pretty great!

I like distopian fiction; 1984, Brave New World, Canticle for Leibowitz (which follows the history of a community of Catholic monks in the aftermath of a nuclear war), Alas Babylon, the Hunger Games, Fitzpatrick’s War (the main character is catholic in a heavily biased Protestant society)

Read anything by Gene Wolfe? Probably our greatest living fantasy author, also a Catholic.
 
Have you read C.S.Lewis’ adult science fiction series: Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, That Hideous Strength?
I also like Charles Williams’ supernatural thrillers: The Place of the Lion, War in Heaven, All Hallows Eve. He was also a member of Lewis’ group The Inklings.
