Looking for books on stained glass

[silentstar]

Does anyone have recommendations? I thought I"d post here b/c I’m not sure this is a book club question. I’m interested in the history of stained glass and stained glass in churches in general, or in a book on a specific cathedral that focuses on stained glass. I own a few already; one is called Stained Glass and one is the Rose Window and another is Painting on Light. I’m not interested in the how-to books.

I’m particularly interested in books with a lot of color plates; I’ve found that some books don’t have many illustrations or if they do, they are almost all black and white, which kind of defeats the purpose for me.

I’ve looked at amazon and other places but I’m interested in suggestions about books that people personally have seen/own.

This is a Christmas present. I’m open to suggestions at different price levels.

thanks.
