Hello everyone. I am not sure that this is the right section to post this, but I am going a personal hell right now with my pcd/scrup problem. I know some of you do not approve of hypnotherapy, but I hear that if done by the right person it can help alot. I am having problem with thoughts that I do not agree with or want and I would like to know if anyone knows of a good catholic hypnotherapist in the Southern California area. I would not feel comfortable using someone outside of my faith. I have prayed long and hard on this and I would rather go this route then with deications that have potential side effects. If you are a catholic hypnotherapist or know someone that is please feel free to pm me or post it here (whichever is most comfortable for you. Im only posting this because of my desperation to get help.
God bless and than you again

Thank you again for the link Betsy, I will look into it today after Mass and thank you for the blessings Betsy:), I really need all that I can get right now.

Kage_Ar , its not going to be easy to make it to the retreat in AZ, as I think my problem needs individual counseling. I sure hope that some of these Catholic Therapist in my area also practice hypnotherapy. Thank you so much folks, and if anyone has any other leads to post I would gladly appreciate it. As you can see folks I am desperate:)
God bless you all

Things have been really getting worse for me. Its almost like I do not have the will to believe what I want to believe anymore. The pain and anguish are like things I have never experienced before in my life. I wish I knew what to do. Im trying to reach out but my family is so hush hush 😦
God please save me

Hello humble,

I am both Catholic and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, but I’m afraid I’m not located anywhere near SoCal. If you would prefer to work in person with a local CHT (certified hypnotherapist) then you should be able to find one through a Google Search. Most CHTs will offer a free consultation to discuss your issue with you, and it would be appropriate for you to mention to them that you are Catholic and need to work with someone who can both respect your religious beliefs and “work within your model” (they will know what that means). If they are Catholic then it is likely that they will tell you so at that point.

Hypnotherapy is a phenomenal healing modality; it is largely based on forgiveness, compassion, understanding, and faith in God. There are a great many of us who are working diligently to separate the profession from it’s unfortunate association with New Age fads. A lot of what comprises the general public’s understanding of hypnosis is pure hooey.

If you have questions, please feel free to private message me.

God bless,

CHT

You have probably tried this already, but I found it helpful just in case you weren’t aware of it: catholictherapists.com/ You may be able to at least make a few contacts who can direct you to a Catholic therapist who is best suited for the type of therapy you would like.

Also, you have a very well founded reason to prefer therapy to medication, and I think that is a very reasonable approach. For your own sake, you may consider at least having an open mind toward medication in the future. I am going into psychiatry and know that certain medications are proven effective for OCD. Please just consider as you go forward.

God Bless, and we’ll keep you in prayer.
