Hi there,

This is my very first post here and I’m not sure if it’s in the right spot. I apologize if it’s not. I’m a 39 year old protestant. Over the past few weeks I’ve been having this yearning to look into the catholic faith. I’m not sure why. :hmmm:The feeling and interest just came out of nowhere. So I wanted to ask what should I do about it? I mean do I just call a local catholic church and talk to someone? I guess I’m not sure where exactly to start. Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanks.
I am a convert and all I can say is hold on for a wonderful ride.

My experience has been like stepping in to a multi-room castle. ( I felt this way before I read anything about St. Teresa of Avila.) You step into one room that is filled with all sorts of fascinating ideas and traditions. Then you will wander into another room and find a whole new set of traditions, music and poetry. Then you will stumble onto one or two of Her many saints and new ideas and thoughts will overwhelm you. Taking a big breath you will open a door and you see ancient art and ancient music. Take another big breath and the 2,000 years of history will knock you for a loop. Just when you think you have seen it all you will stumble into another hallway that leads to a greater understanding of the Bible.

You will feel happily lost in the maze because there is never an end to what you will learn and experience. Take your time and just enjoy the ride.
