I am looking for some good books on these subjects:

SSPX
VC2
traditional Catholicism (Notice the small t)
the SSPP saint paul i think it is

Anything by Angelus Press.

I hear Iota Unum is a good book. It goes through the changes at Vatican II.

I’ll yield to the other traditionalists on this forum for other subjects. Although, I’ve honestly never heard of the SSPP. Do you perhaps mean SSPV? They are sedevacantists, and I would stay away from them as much as you can.

I recommend Paulist Press which has a large selection of books on a large variety of religious subjects. They do have a web site. I dont remember their address but you can google it. And also, try Catholic Books, same thing.

As for traditional books, I would recommend Fr Ludwig Ott’s “The Fundementals of Catholic Dogma”, circa 1955. “My Catholic Faith” is an excellent catechism by Fr Morrow, being republished by Angelus Press. Used copies are abundant on the net. Of course, the greatest catechism is “The Roman Catechism”, commonly refered to as the Catechism of the Council of Trent. It is reprinted by Tan. Old copies can be found on the net.
Read the works of St Alphonsus Ligouri for moral theology.
Fr Dominic Prudder’s small theology manual is helpful, as is Jone’s, which is reprinted by Tan books.
Find an old devotional book, such as “My Daily Bread”, or “Imitation of Christ”, or “Following of Christ” to use as daily spiritual reading.
Much can be added here.
These are all approved, pre-VII writings. For books and the like written since VII, I could recommend some mateials. Just PM me.

The Roman Missal (1962) would be an excellent starting point. I recommend the Baronius Press Summorum Pontificum edition.

Yes, his Ascetical Works are great. I have 5 paperbacks of those, the old ones the Redemptorist Father’s published. The Incarnation and Infancy is a great one to read during Advent, and the Passion of Christ is a great choice for Lent.
 
The works of St. Alphonsus de Liguori are, in my humble opinion, some of the finest works that should be included in any complete library. I very often turn to his works, which never seem to go out of date or become stale, just for a refresher course for my own personal ascetic diciplines. He tells it like it is and his work is valuable for the development of a good solid spiritual life and philosophy. I have not been able to find a good reprint edition collection from the Redemptorist Fathers, published originally by, I believe, Benzinger Brothers, around 1929.

Many works are still available today, and those are usually his most well known and complete. St. Alphonsus was known to have repeated himself, but he makes it clear that this is important for establishing the central idea for those who would otherwise miss it the first time! Here is one link that contains his most comphensive work, “The True Spouse of Jesus Christ”, which was actually written for nuns, but the information is valuable for anyone who seeks to lead a holy life.

I believe there is a package you can request (at least I did) from SSPX which has a number of books on Vatican II, Archbishop Lefebvre, and SSPX. I personally like their Frequently asked Questions book.

If you want to have a firmer understanding (for the most part) of the traditional Catholic movement, get The Resurrection of the Roman Catholic Church, by Griff Ruby. I enjoyed this book a great deal, and it helps clarify a lot of basic questions.

Problems with the Prayers of the Modern Mass, by Fr. Anthony Cekada, ex-SSPX, ex-SSPV, now independent priest, published by TAN, and also Problems with the New Mass by Rama P. Coomaraswamy, also from TAN.

What went wrong with Vatican II? by Ralph McInerny (of Fr. Dowling fame) is tedious but a good ground floor work by a Novus Ordo conservative. The Rhine flows into the Tiber is an old classic.

The SSPV is little strict for me, but I give them credit for their scrupulosity in doctrine. Bishop Kelly once did speaking tours for the John Birch Society, and wrote a book based on those talks I believe.

Of course I could name tons more, and you can message me if you want more, but I think these will keep you busy for a while!👍
