Hi, everyone.

A few years ago I picked “Colette” as my confirmation name after a saint I read about. I was looking to read about her again but for some reason I cannot find any information on her, which is especially strange since I had read about her online in the past. This Colette was not “Saint Colette of Corbie,” the founder of Colettine Poor Clares.

The Saint Colette that I am looking for has a story that (from what I can best remember) is considered somewhat mythical. She wanted to remain a virgin and therefore ran away to avoid a marriage to an older man. She hid in a cave that miraculously closed behind her and protected her from being forced into the marriage. She died, trapped in the cave.

Does anyone know where I could find her story (preferably online, but even in a book would be helpful?)
Or is it possible that there is another variation of her name that she would be listed under?
Any information about her would be great. I am beginning to think I somehow got the name and the story mixed up since I cannot find her.

Thank you! 🙂

Mother Mary Francis PCC wrote a very good biography of her “Walled In Light”. I believe that the Poor Clare Colettines in Roswell, New Mexico sell the book.

Simply type “Saint Colette” in your internet search box and you will find a great deal of information.

I am not looking for the Saint Colette of Corbie. I am looking for a saint with the same name but a different story.
