At supper the other day, my sisters and and brother-in-law ganged up on me. They challenged me on homosexuality, ordination of women, that Jesus “did away with the Old testament”, that if Jesus didn’t say it, He didn’t oppose it (re: homosexuality.) I was able to wiggle off the hook, but, being that I was not prepared for such an onslaught (and that they were all drinking), I managed to walk away with a promise to provide answers.

Can I get help gathering links from this site on these topics? I’ve dug around for a few days and not having a lot of luck. I know I’ve read great tracts, blog and CA staff answers to all of the above and just need the links so I can formulate a message for my family (who, I’m afraid, have lost their way for various unfortunate reasons.)

Just links with a quick note about what the topic is would be appericiated, along with your prayers. Of a large family, I’m the only remaining Catholic… 😊

If you click on the logo on the top left hand side, says catholic answers, it will take you to a page from which you can access a lot of easy to understand explanation of church teaching. Another good source is EWTN, here’s a link to their question page

ewtn.com/vexperts/conference.asp

Both sites present information grounded in the catechism. You can find a copy of the complete catechism here:

vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/_INDEX.HTM

I’m sure others will provide more sources, but this should give you a start. You don’t need to share any more information than you have, but I’ll ask anyway. Do these people usually act this way, or was it a one off, because they were a bit drunk?
