Hello. I am a former agnostic atheist and for the past few months I have been seeking religion.

I was raised southern baptist and refuse to go back to protestantism. I have been attending Eastern Orthodox liturgy’s and do quite like it. However, the church is far away and my (catholic) g/f is urging me to explore Catholicism. I attended one mass and did quite enjoy it.

I was wondering if anyone could give me the main differences between Catholicism and Orthodoxy?

Also could someone explain to me what Vatican I and Vatican II talk is about?

There are books on this subject.

Timothy Ware’s (now Metropolitan Kallistos) famous book THE ORTHODOX CHURCH touches on some of these differences quite irenically.
