Anyone else tired of some of the same old holiday traditions?

Any ideas for updating the traditions that are variable?

Any holiday is up for discussion.

Keep all the Christmas cards you receive in a basket. Place it on your kitchen or dining room table. At each meal, takeout a card, and pray for that person or family along with your grace.
Start fresh next Christmas.

I was thinking we might put up our Christmas tree the first Sunday of Advent (leave the lights off) and add ornaments throughout the season to represent our prayers and sacrifices as we prepare to celebrate Christmas.

And then turn the lights on after mass on Christmas Eve. 😃

We do something very similar to this. 👍

One fun thing to try, if you like cooking, is try and make different traditional meals from around the world for various holidays.

My husband and I are really enjoying “reclaiming” some of the old fashioned Christmas and other holiday traditions. They’re new to us!

These are all great ideas!! Thank you!

I’m at a loss right now…dreading the old and feeling a great need for new.

We’ve started celebrating holidays that we didn’t before. The feast of the archangels, for a recent example. And making a bigger deal and a party out of various church feasts.
