Fr. Bede Jarrett (1881-1934) wrote these meditations “for busy Catholics to ensure that each of your days contain at least one brief, thoughtfull encounter with God.”

I picked it up at my local bookstore. It has the Nihil obstat, and Imprimatur, and was originally published under the name “Meditations for Layfolk”.

I’m just curious on what your opinions are of this book- it was a bit of an impulse purchase, and I haven’t really read much of it yet. I’m hoping to enrich my Lenten activities with it.

Sorry, can’t help ya… Just thought I’d post since it looked like you were getting about as much activity as I was getting with my “Augustine Confessions” thread… That’s what I’m “enriching” my Lenten activities with…

Ya don’t know of a nice “annotated version” do ya??? Next stop - Google…

(Where’s Karl Keating when you need him)???

😉

May you have a blessed Lenten season…

Thanks for the bump LOL.

I don’t know much about your literature either. 🙂

I figured with the Imprimatur and Nihil obstat I’m safe from “J Chick” stuff. But just because it doesn’t have anything against Catholic teaching- doesn’t necessarily make it good literature, or good material to enrich a prayer life.

I have read a little of my book, and have enjoyed it so far. I hope you have the same luck with yours!

👍

Bless you
