My husband and I have been struggling with infertility and would like resources on how to prayerfully deal with this part of our marriage. We have looked for online information and books on the subject, but have only found things about what the Catholic Church teaches about infertility treatments, such as IVF. This kind of information has not been helpful for us because we already know and follow Church teaching. We have also talked to priests and others in our parish, but have found this only mildly helpful. It just felt like the people we spoke with did not have first hand experience with providing counsel on this issue.

We would like to know if there are any books we can read that will help us find understanding and healing during this time. Are there any particular Saints who dealt with this issue or are particularly helpful to pray with during this time? Are there any specific prayers that can be offered up for having children and preparing us for parenthood? Are there any online resources like blogs or articles where people share about their experiences with this subject in a Christian perspective?

We really appreciate any help in helping us find good resources on this subject. Thanks!

I’m so sorry for your struggle.

One blogger I like is Kelly the Kitchen Kop kellythekitchenkop.com/category/infertility

Her blog is about healthy eating, not infertility, but she suffered many miscarriages and struggled with infertility. After changing to a different type of lifestyle, she was able to have a family. She is Catholic and also has a Catholic blog called Christianity 101, I think.

St. Anne, St. Gerard, St. Gianna, St. Collette, St. Andrew are the patrons saints of infertility and childbirth.

For Catholic Medical help for infertility contact the Pope Paul VI Institute
