Hi everyone, I’m struggling to remember this one quote by this one saint and I was hoping that someone could help me look for it. I think I was reading “To Save a Thousand Souls” when I came upon it. It went something like "To know Christ is to know everything, or something like that. I tried looking it up, but I couldn’t find it. Can you guys help me to find the exact quote and the name of the saint? Thanks.

I think you might be thinking of St. Columba of Ireland. He got into a dispute with St. Finian that ended up causing a war in which 3000 people died. He decided to leave Ireland for the continent in order to bring 3000 people into the Church as a “replacement” of sorts.

Is it this?
“To fall in love with God is the greatest romance;
to seek him, the greatest adventure;
to find him, the greatest human achievement.”

–St. Augustine of Hippo

“If you learn everything except Christ, you learn nothing; if you learn nothing except Christ, you learn everything.”
— St. Bonaventure, as quoted in Fr. Brett Brannen’s “To Save a Thousand Souls”, page 52.
