Looking for abook to help me believe in God again. I had stopped do to anger, frustration, sadness, depression, stress…
I want to believe again. I dont want an inspirationional book about how someone found God again through miracles and prayers nor do I want a book telling me why i should stay catholic. I want something that can give me a task everyday such as giving someone a flower or praying the rosary 2 times. I want a book that I can write in. That can give me a page where it says “write 6 things your grateful for” that can give me small daily prayers and stories. Almost like the Morning Glory books but more personal and can give me little homework assignments in it. Almost like a self retreat

Wow. First of all, I thinks it’s really cool that you’ve targeted what your need is, but I don’t know if you’ll find it in only one book.

Are your emotional needs/burdens being tended to ATM? You mention depression, etc— is all that in the past? Or are you trying to climb out of the slog? If this is the case, then let me recommend Feeling and Healing Your Emotions by Conrad Baars. He was a devoted Catholic.

If you need a book that explains why belief in God as Catholics understand Him makes rational sense, then I suggest Handbook of Christian Apologetics by Peter Kreeft.

Unfortunately , I don’t have any suggestions for a book that gives you a day-by-day good deed outreach kind of thing like you describe, but I actually love the idea of it 🙂. I’ll be watching this thread because I hope somebody else knows of one.

Peace to you and prayers for you on this journey :pray:t2::pray:t2::pray:t2:

I think what you’re describing is akin to a workbook of sorts, which I cannot help with. But you may find “Introduction to the Devout Life”, by Francis de Sales, a very helpful volume of sound guidance and practical advice.
