My family moved from PA to NC about 3 years ago and we miss the strong catholic churches and larger parishes and diocese that we had near Pittsburgh. We were pondering relocating but wanted to get to a place with a stronger catholic population. Any (name removed by moderator)ut would be helpful in areas in Northern Virginia or Maryland.

Hi,

By “Northern Virginia or Maryland”, are you really talking about the DC area? Is there any particular area why you don’t want to live in DC?

I think the DC area is one of the strongest areas in the country, because of the influence of the USCCB, Catholic University, the seminaries, and all the religious institutions that are headquartered here. No matter where you go in the area, it’s likely that you’ll find a strong parish within a short drive.

Hi, thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut. I told my husband he should have been more specific. Because we have a large family, I was hoping to find a small town w/ a vibrant Catholic church that is a nice place to raise a family. I know the whole DC/northern VA area can be expensive so I thought a small town would be better and I’m just not a city girl. Thanks for helping!!!

Hi,

Is your husband accepting a job in the DC area? Finding a “small town” anywhere near here is increasingly difficult.

Hi, he’s a pharmacist and the headhunter he’s working with said they specialize in the N. Va/Md and to let him know where we want to go and he’ll find something. I want this to be our last move, at least until all of our kids are grown so I thought someone may know some nice towns in that area— I have a sister in Ashburn, VA so I’d like to get w/in two hours in any direction. Thanks!

Well, what about that pro-life pharmacy in Chantilly? I wonder if they are looking to expand?
