I’m looking for daily devotional prayers that take over ten minutes, other than the rosary. Any suggestions?

This was going to be my exact response.

I’ll add to that Lectio Divina which can take as much time as you like. 30ish minutes is my average I think.

I agree with the suggestions for the Liturgy of the Hours or lectio divina.

LOTH is the prayer of the Church. You’re praying in union with people around the world. For myself, becoming more familiar with the Psalms and bringing them into my life has been truly enriching. Lectio divina is a way of allowing God the space to speak to you through scriptures. A quiet, peaceful, contemplative way of praying.

I write a letter to God every day long-hand. Not a laundry-list of requests; I discuss deeper things, fears or discouragements or joys. It helps me feel like I’m communicating at a deeper level with God. I even try to write down what I think he might be saying to me. And I write down bible verses that pop into my mind as I’m praying this way. Just one way to pray of many, but I LOVE doing this.

The Church recommends that lay Catholics pray as much of the Liturgy of the Hours (LOTH) as possible, especially Morning Prayer (a.k.a. Lauds) and/or Evening Prayer (a.k.a. Vespers).

Daily prayer texts for the LOTH can be found at iBreviary website. They also have an app.
