Or, perhaps, that we should defer reception of communion (except for priest celebrant)
Of course that’s always an option, with or without plague. The purpose of this thread, however, is to brainstorm feasible ways that the faithful might receive communion.

Is there really any way an object that is not dry (that is, an object adulterated with any liquid whatsoever, but especially not isopropyl alcohol rather than water) is ever going to be as a vessel for the Blessed Sacrament? What about the high chance of spilling the Precious Blood between the chalice and the communicant?
I thought at first you were in Europe or some country where there was stricter mandated social distancing. I’m gonna be honest here, I’ve had fast food workers, coffee shop workers, grocery store workers, the veterinarian, and the employee of another local essential business hand me stuff in the last three days. If they can do it then I don’t see a problem in having a priest hand me the Eucharist. I don’t think he’s going to become a big disease vector if he’s not touching people’s hands - and even before the Mass shutdown, I noticed the priests were being careful not to do that.
I think priests have always been very careful not to touch the mouths or hands of communicants.

AMEN! šŸ™

I am doubtful that any churches will hold meetings of any type, including Masses, until their States drop the ā€œShelter in Placeā€ and ā€œStay 6 feet apart requirements.ā€ In fact, in Illinois, starting May 1, we all have to have masks on in public, not just in grocery stores.

Our pastor is currently streaming a series of ā€œmissionā€ sermons, and they are excellent! So maybe that will be an option for parishes–not only streaming Mass, but streaming various talks from the priests–we have really enjoyed and learned a lot from our priest the last few days, and it’s nice to hear a message that is not a ā€œhomilyā€. We are so blessed to have him and two other great priests in our parish, along with 2 wonderful deacons!
