I am empty and don’t know what to do. I am praying for the rebuilding of my marriage and for my husband to turn his head back to the marriage. I pray for his faith to return, and I am tired and questioning myself. I took my vows seriously 23 years ago and still do. I have accepted my shortfalls in the marriage and have asked forgiveness for any pain I have caused my husband. I thought I was given a miracle in March, when we seemed to be turning back to one another. Now he wants a divorce and to move out. He says he loves me and cares for me, but not the way I want him to love me. He is depressed and hit a mid-life crisis. I don’t want my children to repeat his childhood. I am not his mother and won’t be bitter, but how do I pray for the restoration of my marriage. Somedays I feel like I can do this and wait, other days I think maybe God has another plan for me and maybe I am a fool to believe my husband will snap out of this anytime soon. I fear he will turn around 25 years from now and realize he made a mistake. I have never abandoned him and have stood by him even in his worst moments. I know his soul and know the man he has been and is capable of being. He has been a good father and husband, but I do not recognize him. Please God, heal his heart, open his eyes and lead him back to his family. Help me see the signs to guide me Lord. I am lost and afraid.
Amen

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

You should have a mass offered for your family tree.

Offer up some small sacrifice for your husband on Wednesdays and Fridays (or Saturdays),
Such as no chocolate or tea or coffee on those days, no idle Internet browsing, anything,

Go to adoration or to the Blessed Sacrament even just if after mass on Sunday to say what prayer you can for him

Pray that he has a conversion of heart

Ask God to rain down all the graces he received at his marriage Sacrament, and baptism,

Jesus often granted miracles on the basis of faith!
“Your faith has made you well.”
  1. tell God all your prayer requests for your husband
  2. Start thanking God each day whenever you feel like it, in 100% joyful undoubted faith that He has answered those prayers in His timing
A priest in the Healing ministry recommends those two steps for asking Jesus for a miracle. And many miracles have come through those two steps.

Praying for you and your husband…
*O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, **who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. **O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother. *
  • O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you *from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.
  • O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. *Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom in your time of need.

Hail Holy Queen**
Hail, Holy Queen,
Mother of Mercy,
hail our life, our sweetness and our hope!
To thee do we cry
poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping
in this vale of tears.
Turn then,
O most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy towards us
and after this our exile
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb,
Jesus;
O clement,
O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel
St Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray
and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host,

and all the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
The Memorare
Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known,
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help
or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To thee I come, before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petition,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.

V. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray. O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Andi my heart goes out to you and your children.
Please don’t second-guess yourself on everything regarding your marriage. We do the best we can as we go along, and I think you have. We can always question and blame ourselves for any perceived failures, all of us. You are the best wife because you love your husband regardless, of hurt, of the betrayal of his decision to leave your marriage.
Your love, your love for your children, that will be you best blessing for your children.
May God guide you in your gentle responses to yourself, your children, and your mixed up husband.

Praying . . .

Acordaos (Memorare)*
*Acordaos, ¡oh piadosísima Virgen María!,
que jamás se ha oído decir
que ninguno de los que han acudido
a vuestra protección,
implorando vuestro auxilio,
antes bien, escuchadlas
y acogedlas benignamente.

Que allí donde haya odio, ponga yo amor;
Donde haya ofensa, ponga perdón;
Donde haya discordia, ponga unión;
Donde haya error, ponga verdad;
Donde haya duda, ponga fe;
Donde haya desesperación, ponga esperanza;
Donde haya tinieblas, ponga vuestra luz;
Donde haya tristeza, ponga yo alegría.

¡Oh, maestro!
Que no me empeñe tanto
en ser consolado como en consolar;
en ser comprendido como en comprender;
en ser amado como en amar,
pues dando, se recibe,
olvidando, se encuentra,
perdonando, se es perdonado,
muriendo, se resucita a la vida eterna.

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,**
Deliver me, Jesus.**
From the desire of being loved…
From the desire of being extolled …
From the desire of being honored …
From the desire of being praised …
From the desire of being preferred to others…
From the desire of being consulted …
From the desire of being approved …

From the fear of being despised…
From the fear of suffering rebukes …
From the fear of being calumniated …

That others may be loved more than I,**
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.**
That others may be esteemed more than I …

Let Nothing Disturb You
Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:

Praying for you…**
**Lord, Help Me to Not Quit

:signofcross:
Lord, when things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road I am trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And I want to smile, but I have to sigh,
When care is pressing me down a bit-
Lord, help me to rest if I must, but not quit.

Life is strange, Lord, with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
Lord, help me remember that many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Help me, Lord, to not give up though the pace seems slow -
I may succeed with another blow.

Lord, let me see that often the goal is nearer than
It seems to me, a faint and faltering man;
Help me to not be the struggler that gives up
When I might have captured the victor’s cup;
By not quitting, Lord, let it not be me who
Learned too late when the night came down,
How close I was to the golden crown.

Lord, teach me that success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And I never can tell how close I am,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So Lord, help me stick to the fight when I’m hardest hit -
That it’s when things seem worst that I must not quit.
It’s when things seem worst that You carry me.
Amen.
:signofcross: Don’t You Quit

An Inspirational Poem

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor’s cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit -
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
