I have noticed a lot of people on here do not like the hymn, “Lord of the Dance”. Why not?

It’s a stoopid song.
I don’t care for it, probably because it could have been put to different music, and having to sing it in schoolI have noticed a lot of people on here do not like the hymn, “Lord of the Dance”. Why not?
Why is it stupid? Because you don’t like it?Go to my husband’s parish. You can hear it every other week.

It’s a stoopid song.
Sung to: Lord of the DanceI swayed with the choir
when the gath’ring song was sung
Then I pranced right up the aisle
When the Sanctus bell was rung
Then I sashayed around the altar
And I danced a little more,
But I tripped over my chasuble and landed on the floor.
“ I’ll be dancing everywhere, you see,
for I am Liturgical Dance.” said she
“ And I’ll lead you all, whoever you may be
Into doing Liturgical Dance with me.”
These were on or were linked to on the Curt Jester…We sang some songs in Spanish
And we sang some songs in French
Once we tried to sing Swahili,
Curiosity to quench.
But we never will sing Latin,
Not while boomers still draw breath,
Because Catholic Tradition scares us all to death!
Here in our post-modernity
We’re all about Cultural Diversity
Excluding every product of the patriarchy
Most especially in sexual morality.
Okay- I have to say it again…I laugh out loud everytime I come to this thread and see this post. Thanks Freeway4321! :tiphat:
I think the better question would be would anyone like it? It’s just a nonsensical little ditty. It really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense now, does it? I don’t recall Christ ever calling himself the “Lord of the Dance”. If you want an Irish sounding him, I’d recommend “The King of Love, My Shepherd Is”. Makes way more sense then the goofy lyrics of “Lord of the Dance”.I have noticed a lot of people on here do not like the hymn, “Lord of the Dance”. Why not?
My Good Ole Irish Da (God rest his soul), used to say that since Vatican II he actually did more praying on the Golf Course.http://bestsmileys.com/stpatricsday/2.gif
Oh Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling you…
Looks a little like Barry Fitzgerald. “A golf course is nothing but a pool hall moved outdoors.”![]()
'cause they’re cranky?I have noticed a lot of people on here do not like the hymn, “Lord of the Dance”. Why not?
You’re welcome. I thought it was fitting for the thread, and apparently I was correct. http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon14.gifOkay- I have to say it again…I laugh out loud everytime I come to this thread and see this post. Thanks Freeway4321! :tiphat:
