Pity.
General respect for ancient wisdom.
Sauron=Satan
Gandalf=Priest

Frodo rejects (or at least attempts to) the temptation of the evil ring and delivers Middle Earth from the evil trickery of Sauron. (Lord’s Prayer?)

The Miruvoir (sp) that Gandalf receives from Elrond and gives to the fellowship can also be depicted as the Cup of Christ. It tasted like wine, but was invigorating to the heart and soul.

The virtues are resplendent throughout the work. Hope most strikingly. Subsidiarity is certainly present, but so also is solidarity. An elf and a dwarf with a friendship so strong. The bearing of one another’s burdens in so many instances, but most strikingly of Sam carrying the Ring by carrying Frodo. And beer! Only a Catholic could have written so appreciatively of the stuff!
