My school’s Catholic group does a Lord’s day celebration which involves the breaking of bread and drinking of wine, several prayers, the lighting of a candle, on Saturday night before Sunday. Scripture is read, and bread and wine is blessed.
It is described as a Christianized celebration of the Jewish Sabbath (and was supposedly started my a Messianic Jew). I’ve heard one of the priests from Audio Sancto that this was Judaizing and a mortal sin against the first commandment (if done with knowledge and intent).
Is it true that this is Judaizing? They argue that since this is reverting to traditions and celebrations about the Messiah who is not here yet, that this is an act of faith against the fact that Christ has come.
