It has now been 4 months since I learned I was losing my job of 11 years with the church due to budget cuts. With over 100 applications and resumes now sent out, I still have no new job and no new offers on the horizon. I had one great opportunity but finished second in the interview process — finishing second in a job interview does not do any good in providing for my family.

I have lost all my joy and happiness. This is the first time in 30 years that I have been without a job. Staying home day after day doing endless, and seemingly useless resume updates, job searches, etc. is taxing my patience and creating a great deal of frustration and depression.

I pray and pray without any results in finding a job to support my family. Please pray for me in my job search.

I have pretty much lost all of my self confidence, and the anxiety and worry of how I am going to provide for my wife and kids is overwhelming. I pray for trust and giving into God’s will, but this seems so very unfair to my family.

Blessings to each of you and thank you for your prayers.

Bruce

There is a website linkedin.com where people sometimes find jobs in their chosen profession. After you sign up for free, join the Catholic Professionals Group as well as other groups specific to your profession. It doesn’t cost anything and it can’t hurt. There are many members in various professions.

While you are waiting find something to bring in at least some money for a few hours every week. Some guys deliver pizza, work for UPS, cut grass, work part time at Home Depot, anything to bring in a few dollars and keep their minds occupied.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women,
and Blessed is the Fruit
of Thy Womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

*Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
You wanted all who are weary
To come to You for support.
Lord, I am worn out
By my inability to find work.

Guide my steps to a righteous path;
Give me the patience
To find opportunities with a future.
Calm my worries and fears
As my financial responsibilities mount.
Strengthen my resolve;
Embolden my heart to open doors;
Open my eyes to see life beyond rejections.
Help me believe in me.

Let me realize other ways
To bring about Your kingdom on earth.
Let me grow as a person
That I may be worthy
For Your greater glory.
In the name of the Father.

Amen.

Nebrb,please don’t give up hope, God is good I will keep you in my prayers. God bless

Bruce it’s awful that you, like so many, continue to have this pressure every day, of trying to find work to support your family, and of trying to maintain faith when nothing so far has come of yours and others’ prayers.
Lord have mercy on Bruce and his family

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. :crossrc:

St. Joseph, holy patron of workers, pray for Bruce. :crossrc:

Thanks again for the prayers and support. There is not a lot I can lean upon except Jesus and the good souls on this forum. I know that God is at work here, but it is so hard to see my wife and kids, all wonderful and kind people, have to suffer because of the loss of my career. Really, I feel awfully useless, unwanted, and almost obsolete. Not a fun way to feel. Blessings to all and thank you again. I pray for everyone who is looking for meaningful, useful work.

Keep your head up high!
God has a plan and he will lead you where he wants you to be.
Open your mind and ease up on yourself…you have brought your family this far, and you will continue to lead them on the path the Lord wants you to take! My prayers are with you and all those who have lost their jobs or will lose their jobs in the near future.
God Bless,
Pam

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers, grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

May God’s Grace be your constant companion Bruce.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us. And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, o Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.
