and we evolved from monkeys
We didn’t evolve from monkeys, we share a common ancestor with current monkeys of today.

The people that wrote the bible were not creating a document to be scientifically based or historical record at all in the same way current trained historians are trained to record history or how astrophysicists represent the cosmos. The writers of these holy texts were just recording the oral history and stories of the cultures of the time. Just like how we created the King Author legends. Camelot could exist, military wars could have happened, someone called Merlin could have existed, but magic? definitely not based on what reality has actually demonstrated to be the case. Just because in 200 years they could discover New York and Marvel comics, that does not make Spiderman exist. The writers of the Marvel Comics were not writing in a way to record history accurately just like the writers of holy texts were not recording their superhero stories the same way. They are writing to tell moral fables and the application of cultural values through these stories and what the historical identity is to be part of this group.
You can be religious and not believe in the supernatural. Jewish community does this, Atheist community does this, and the secular community does this. Using religion for its value of shared moral ethics, cultural traditions and teachings, etc. is all important and useful regardless of your belief or nonbelief in the supernatural. I’m an atheist, for example, and still sing in the choir and attend bible studies and everyone know I am an atheist. If your community kicks you out because of a lack of belief in the supernatural, regardless of your support of its moral teachings and betterment of our society, then good riddance to them.
