I am grateful for all that I have. I am grateful for the miracle I was pretty sure was given to me in March - the recommitment of my husband to our marriage. We just celebrated our 22nd anniversary and 27 years together. We make efforts each day to be grateful for each other. We have weathered many problems and most recently he committed adultery with another woman. I found it in my heart to forgive him, as he had been a faithful man and is a good father. I prayed to God for forgiveness for my complacent part in the marriage. I prayed to have the strength to endure this. The former mistress still contacts him for work and he is being faithful, but she will not leave him alone. She is playing the “just friends” card and he believes her. He does not seek her out and I have no reason to doubt his commitment to me, but I am having a hard time forgiving her and not being angry with her for injecting herself into our life. I pray to God to make her leave him alone. I have had no relief.
We have been on a good path, except that during this time we also lost 1/2 of our income. I have gotten a second job and it has been difficult hours. I prayed and I am enduring awful hours and hate the job, but had accepted this as part of God’s plan - being grateful each day for the positive things about it. Now they are cutting hours. I have been searching for a new job. My husband is now without faith and we are staring down so many bills. We are working hard at our marriage and recommitment to our family. We are working tireless hours and yet we are facing losing our house. I am trying to be faithful, but I am now losing my hope and questioning my faith. My husband has no faith whatsoever and cannot see any hope. I fear he will give up on our marriage and family if this does not resolve itself. I wanted to believe I was being tested and God wanted me to work through the problems. I am losing my faith and wonder if the miracle I prayed for in March for my husband’s return was just a fluke. I surrender to God and hope my marriage and family will be able to stay in the home we have created together. I pray every day and feel no relief and don’t think I am being heard. I fear I am being punished, and yet I do not want to believe God would punish my husband and I for our recommitment to each other. I am so afraid…was my husband’s return the only miracle I get…I give thanks, I pray for forgiveness, I try to be the best person I can be and yet I am suddenly empty again and lost. Am I destined to lose it all? I don’t want to believe God isn’t listening, but each day my husband’s depression deepens and I feel lost.

@Andi2007,
Don’t stop praying. The evil one hates all of God’s creations, especially humans and especially married couples. He will do whatever it takes to break up your marriage as marriage closely parallels the relationship of the Holy Trinity. Do not give in and do not give up! Ask your husband to pray with you every day and especially on those hard days. I like to pray the Rosary and ask our Blessed Mother to help when it comes to my marriage. She WILL help you and her Son Jesus Christ will hear her prayers. May God’s peace and love surround you and your husband and keep you safe from harm. Amen! :signofcross:

Hi, Andi. I’m sorry for the anguish that you and your husband have been experiencing, and shall keep you in my prayers. Your initial hope in a good outcome through faith and prayer marked you as a target of Satan, for, truly, he exists, is alive, well, and flourishing; he will do whatever he can, in any way possible, to steal you away from Our Father. BECAUSE you are a devout child of God, Satan will taunt you, and try you, until either he wins or he is convinced that you remain steadfast to your faith in the Holy Trinity, and gives up, at least, temporarily. It’s that simple, and that complicated. Keep doing what you’ve been doing: pray and do the things that need doing. Remember that Jesus is right there beside you, your husband, and the rest of your family. Reach for Him throughout each day. Whatever happens in our lives may be the antithesis of everything for which we dreamed when we smiled at our reflections in the mirror when we were young and innocent, looking forward to our adult years, but things happen for a reason. Somehow, we make it through seemingly impossible situations. You’ll make it through this; it may not be in the way that YOU want, but you’ll make it through. Trust in Jesus. Ask Him to help you. He will NOT forsake you! So, don’t you two forsake Him! God WILL provide for you, but you must not give up on God, nor Jesus, nor The Holy Spirit. When another wrench is thrown your way, out loud, give Satan ‘the devil.’ Scream at him and stamp your foot! Use holy water. Stay the course. As for the depression that you’re both experiencing, eat only healthy food, no junk stuff, in order to keep your bodies healthy, your minds sharp, and your emotions on a more even keel. If you can’t afford a prescription for anixiety/depression, search the Internet and talk to a knowledgeable health food store employee regarding the foods/supplements that harm or enhance mental well-being. Hug each other, tightly and often. Smile, often, and thank Jesus for the little things throughout your day. Post on a wall a list of all the things for which you’re grateful, and go over it and add to it each day. Keep plugging. Keep shouting, “Satan, get thee behind me!” And never stop praying. In my heart, I know that you have the prayers of every person who’s read your plea–things WILL work out. Have faith! My love and prayers are yours.

I will pray for you both. Ask for the intercession of Saints. Anne & Joachim, the parents of Our Lady. May God bring a quick resolution to the financials and give you both strength in your marriage.

Praying to St. Dymphna for your husband’s health & recovery. Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom in your time of need. Praying for your intentions.

It is** injustice** that hardens people’s hearts,
when we hear of injustice being perpetrated,
our love grows cold, as Jesus predicted.(See
Matt. 24:12) Try to imagine a God of Mercy,
Righteousness and Justice, because IT IS
THE TRUTH!!!

Hail Mary, full of grace,
[you are with the Lord]
blessed are you among women,
blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon Andi2007 in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

God please help this women and her husband. St. Jude please intercede and give them hope. St. Patrick you too struggled with forgiveness please intercede so that she will forgive the mistress. Please let them always turn to you God. Please carry them the way you carried me in my struggles. Please let them push a little bit harder until they are relieved. Please let them know that you do not punish them but love. Please give them strength and if it is your will end their suffering soon. Amen

To the poster please know that God never punishes you. Suffering is caused by the devil he wants you to loose your faith. In these hard times if you keep turning to God your faith will be even stronger. Take it one day at a time. You are in my prayers.

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.*

Let us pray, O God, who enlightened your Church by the virtues and preaching of St. Dominic, your confessor and our father, mercifully grant that by his prayers we may be delivered from present dangers and ever increase in spiritual blessings. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

St. Thérèse of Liseux Prayer From “Story of A Soul”

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Amen. †

Lord, thank you that you are with me right now.
Your love surpasses all fear.
I give you the anxiety I feel.
I surrender all my worries to you.
Clear my mind;
Calm my heart;
Still my Spirit;
Relax my being, that, I may
always glorify you in everything
I write, speak and do.

Amen. †
