LOST - Anyone a fan?

pnewton, you can download it off the internet in an avi format and watch it on your computer or convert it to another format and watch it on your dvd player.

We get lousy reception on the channel that it’s on, so even though we tape it, I also download it so that we can watch any parts over that we want to.

Everyone ready for tonite!! 😃
 
I am sooo excited about the episode tonight.

Actually (and yes, I realize how bad this sounds), I want my family to go to daily Mass tonight at 7, and LOST is on at 8.

So all I can think is, “Well, you can’t NOT go to Mass because of a TV show… we will just have to rush home so we don’t miss any!!”

Ahhh. I love that show.

Set your VCR, then you don’t have to worry about rushing home from Mass (try explaining that to the officer who pulls you over for speeding, lol) and you don’t have to sit through those annoying commercials!

Our setup is funny, and we can’t tape on the channel that LOST is on.

As it turns out, I forgot that it was really on at 9 anyway. So we got to see it.

Anyone know who desmond is? I don’t recall from last year and I didn’t watch the repeat episodes this fall. Thank you!
 
We first met Desmond this season in the first episode. He was the guy that Jack met when he was running the stairs in the stadium.

A couple thoughts. The dialogue between Michael & Sawyer got kind of annoying. That was a downer. Seeing the same scene as last week, just from a different perspective, um, interesting I guess.

Overall I wasn’t horribly excited about this episode. But you seem to learn a few more things.

One is that I was correct 😃 about what Desmond was typing in the computer. It looks like he has to type it or the place will blow or something.

Next is that he thinks something bad has happened outside. He made a comment like “the world still exists out there?”.

It almost seems that he thinks that sickness that Danielle has mentioned (and now him) is REALLY BAD.

New questions - who is “him” that Desmond was expecting? What is “him” suppose to do for Desmond?

Interesting things to ponder - my wife caught it but I didn’t. In the flashback, Michael gave Walt what looks like a white stuffed polar bear!

What’s the symbol and name on the items in the hatch (noticably the food)?

How crazy was that when Jin comes running on the beach and you can finally hear him say “others”?

And the preview with Hurley standing in the hatch doorway - he looks tough.

How cool was that with Kate being locked up with all that food?

Has anyone memorized the “numbers” on the show yet? And what does “108” mean?

…just a few wonderfully random thoughts on LOST…
 
My own theory is that they all actually died in the plane crash and the island is some kind of purgatory or limbo or whatever (I’m not claiming that the show is conforming to orthodox Catholic theology!). It seems to me that more and more clues are pointing that way.

Awesome show, yes I have the numbers memorized and 108 is the sum total of the ‘numbers’: 4 8 15 16 23 42.

We watched the reruns over summer and picked up a number of little nuances that we had missed first time through.

Any body visited the web sites they show at the bottom of the screen during promos for the show? Some pretty neat stuff:

We’re addicted too…LOL – we missed the entire first season b/c of kids bedtimes (8:30) but managed to get caught up (twice…:o ) before season 2 started…and now have my mother hooked, and my brother over in germany torrenting it…LOL – I had him watch the first episode of it when he was here…

There are some really cool blogs out there on the show with all sorts of theories and “I noticed this” kind of stuff…

Needless to say between this and 24, I’m set for adventure! – Thank goodness they’re staggered thruout the season!!
 
I’m impressed with the writers. When the show first started, I thought there was no way you could make a hit show about people stranded after a plane crash. But WOW, they did it! My husband and I love the show and I remind him on Wednesday to be home in time to see it. The person who bugs me is Kate. I’m getting tired of her silence and “tormented” looks. I love the relationship between Charlie and Claire.
 
I’m worried Charlie will turn druggie again! 😦
Did you all see the previews for this week? There is another band of survivors from the plane!!!

Here’s our theory (me and DH) == the “others” are the other survivors from the rear of the plane – including the woman who hit on Jack in the bar before the flight…she’s the one down in the “pit” – and we bet she’s got whatever the “virus” is -that’s why she’s been thrown down there…the others have gone all “Lord of the Flies” nutso, either from illness or from the whole experience of the wacky island…I too would like to see Kate disappear…she bugs me like Audry bugged me on 24…lol. Hurley is my hero, I think he’s the best character on the show. I am so mad they’re bringing the drugs back to Charlie…I was hoping once he was done with the addiction, that plot would just fade away…apparently not. My favorite plot line is Sun and Jin…I really want to see what is going to happen with them…Here’s to Wednesday Nights!!

This would be great for those nights when I set the recorder but for some idiotic reason something goes awry and I end up with sumo wrestling instead!

It’s interesting that a few of the posters here also mention the series “24”…all of us at our house are also hooked on these two shows!

Whatever is going on in LOST, it seems to be a classic case of “things aren’t always as they seem to be”!:whacky:
 
I brought up the purgatory idea to DH and apparently his boss mentioned the same thign, but in an interview, the writers said something to the effect of “no, everything in the show conforms to the laws of physics and the “natural” world” – hmmm…

How about this - the ‘others’ are descendants of the survivors of ‘Black Rock’. It doesn’t make sense that they are the survivors from the rear of the plane, simply because Russo has been hiding/running from the ‘others’ for years.

I figured for a while that there were going to end up being more survivors from the rear of the plane. If you remember in one of the early episodes, there was an older black woman who was sitting near Jack and she was nervous about the flight, her husband was in the bathroom in the rear of the plane when it went down. Later on the beach when Jack invited her to a memorial service he asked if she wanted to say a few words about her husband and she said, ‘Dr. my husband isn’t dead’.

I am also a ‘24’ fan. Can’t wait to see how they are going to get ‘dead’ Jack back into the swing!
