The AG does not have parishes. I called their state office. They cannot help.

I don’t know what they believe in regard to multiple baptisms, but they do not send their records to Springfield or to their state offices.

If worst comes to worst, you may receive a conditional baptism…think of Luke’s telling of the parable of the Prodigal Son…don’t make this a legalist dilemma.

I have a question, not trying to “make it a legalist” issue.

Why is someone thinking I am trying to make this "a legalist issue? "

I married someone who is Catholic, who converted in his 40’s. I have quite a bit of positive history with the Roman Catholic church, after having worked in one for several years. I want to worship with my husband. I want to receive communion and be part of the Catholic church. I have a question and just don’t understand why someone would think I am trying to make this a legalist issue. Goodness.

Sorry, didn’t mean to offend you. You may be being just a tad overdramatic, though.

Your question was “Will the church make me be baptized twice”…whether they do or not, as long as it is with the proper intents (conditional if unproven), any worry is legalistic, was all I was saying.

I was baptized as an adult, 60 years ago, in an Assembly of God church. I no longer have the certificate, and the church has dispersed into other congregations. I am beginning RCIA, and all I can think is “one baptism.” Will the Church required me to be baptized twice?
Assembly of God baptisms are valid but if you cannot prove you were baptised you would be conditionally baptised. That is not a second baptism.

I am not being a tad over dramatic. You are the one who is trying to make this into something it is not. Stay on topic.

Thanks! I looked at your PDF. Very helpful. I think proof will emerge. I sent the pastor who baptized me a book I wrote. This should job his memory. If not, I can certainly attest to being baptized.

Also, when you are putting something in quotation marks, they should be exactly what was said. You have misquoted me.
