Why did you respond to me with this?I an leaving the Catholic faith, and returning to Orthodoxy if there is a decent orthodox church within reasonable traveling distance, OR I will find a good protestant church and worship there.

Lioness1 posted quite extensively on another thread that she does not accept the RCC’s teaching on divorce/remarriage requiring one to go through the annulment process. (not her situation, but that of a young lady she was advising who was considering RCC)
So true, but then there are the soils in parable of sower and seed, so indeed one can have some aspect of catholic upbringing both to retain and turn away from.In order to lose something, I think you need to have it first.
They would say they were well catechized(remember all those deep seeds ?). Some were altar boys, went to Catholic schools, one was even a nun.I think poor catechesis may just be the #1 reason people leave the faith.
Jesus had an exclusive view of it.I guess I just do not need to have such an exclusive view of it.
What you mean to say isNo other Christiandenominationhas had such a massivecover upon a grand scale as the RCC though.
Not to excuse in any way shape or form, the scandals and the damage they caused. There is no excuse. Truth is, the Church has NEVER been without “scandal” and “sin”. The apostles weren’t perfect. Fast forward in history from them. And to be fair , look at all the non Catholics and THEIR scandals. Not me personally, but I have family that have left due to the scandals.
