I went on a discernment retreat last month which has left me wondering why I even went. I had emailed the Mother Prioress about the order and the next day she called me (I have no idea how she got my home number). When I was visiting the priory she told me of a dream she had had of me the night before I had contacted her. In her dream she was walking out of a cathedral and there was a man standing there. He was older, with gray hair, and was looking off into the distance. She said that he said, “She is coming soon, get ready the bell”.

The bell is what calls the nuns to the Divine Office…in a symbolic sense, it is the voice of God. When she told me of the dream I started to feel very lost…I was there a week and, during that time, I lost 5 pounds.

I’m feeling very discouraged…At 23 I need to get my life in order. The problem is that when I get down, I get emotionally unstable and I’m scared that I might do something stupid that I will permanently regret. I don’t think that order is for me, but why did she have that dream?

Lord, please always grant Battle_Warrior many graces for faith, hope, love, joy, and the gift of discernment. With the power of protecting angels, stave off all temptations against temperance in this maturing soul. Lead her joyfully throughout the paths of this life, even if they be difficult. Instill in her a spirit of heroism for the faith, and see that she find immense joy in every fulfillment of the Father’s merciful will. Have mercy, Lord. Our Lady, angels, and saints, pray with us. Amen.

praying for you.

is there a vocations director you can talk to.

and remember, dreams are just dreams

Good luck on your journey. I have said prayers for you.

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom in your time of need.

Praying that the perfect will of God will be revealed to you and that you will find the peace of heart that comes with His plan.

Does this sound like its from God?

By your fruits shall you know it.

Ignore the dream.
It could have been just a dream. Anyone can have any kind of dream. Satan can give dreams too. So private revelation can never be believed unless approved by a few holy spiritual directors. Ignore it.

God will not tie down your life

You are free to do anything (as long as you live a holy life!)

If you think its not for you and it depresses you, then thats a sign it is NOT for you.

I know of a situation where a guy discerning priesthood was CERTAIN he was getting all types of extraordinary signs, especially for a particular order.
Guess what, he discerned 100% that he wasnt being called to be a priest at all.

So you can NEVER trust signs. Signs can be coincidence, or just satan.

What you go on is; does this give me PEACE, WELLBEING, energy, sesnse of looking forward?
If it doesn’t its not from God at ALL.

St ignatius of loyola wrote a book on this way of discerning.

You are right. God is NOT calling you there.

Traditional Easter Day Prayer

Christ is Risen: The world below lies desolate
Christ is Risen: The spirits of evil are fallen
Christ is Risen: The angels of God are rejoicing
Christ is Risen: The tombs of the dead are empty
Christ is Risen indeed from the dead,
the first of the sleepers,
Glory and power are his forever and ever.
Amen.

St. Hippolytus

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

†

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

†

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon Battle_Warrior in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen
