Please pray for my son’s little friend at daycare - his mom texted me last night to tell me that she lost her job. She JUST started in the last few months and has been in training. I don’t know the circumstances surrounding her situation, but she is a single mom.

Please also continue to pray for my friend who is looking for work and has just learned that her sitter’s last day will be 11/7 and she is needing childcare for her part-time job.

I am also praying a 54-day novena for DH to find work suitable to his talents that would finally let me be a SAHM. Because of staffing changes, I’m unable to do my work. I’m not in any danger of losing my job, but it’s difficult to come here every day when I feel like I’m not able to make any kind of difference. I have no doubt that if I was able to resign, they could easily regionalize my job like they have done with so many others.

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Prayer for Employment

Lord, there are many people in our nation who are in need of a steady job with sufficient wages to care for themselves and their families.
Help these people remain diligent in their job search. Give them the confidence they need to succeed and the perseverance to continue on when they become discouraged.
Teach me to encourage those seeking employment and to offer them whatever assistance I can give.
Open the hearts of those responsible for hiring and for the care of unemployed people in industry and in government that they may carry out their work with compassion.
For all the unemployed in our nation, I offer my prayer that they might find productive works that enables them to use and develop their talents and skills and to meet their economic needs.
Amen.
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Prayer to St. Joseph for the Unemployed

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.
