Because of the problem of evil…and I don’t know if I really believe in God the Father or in the Holy Trinity either… Im 39 and a convert to the Catholic Church. My Dad died 11 years ago and he was never a good example for me. And my parents divorced when I was 12. And I have same sex attraction too…and Ive lost a lot of faith in the catholic church because of bad examples of priests…but please keep me in your prayers…thank you…

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Take heart, mon ami.

Purgatory will still welcome you.

I am sorry to hear you are struggling with the faith. You are definitely in my prayers.

Mary.

Praying for the Holy Spirit to guide you into a strong faith. And simply praying for you 🙂

Prayer for Increased Faith

Increase in us, Lord, the faith You have given us,
and bring to a harvest worthy of heaven
the praise we offer You at the beginning of this new day.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

My brothers and sisters in CAF began praying for
me as my mother grew nearer to death in 2013.
They didn’t know me. They just knew I am
a soul who needed their prayers.

Jaysdec, never doubt that they are here for you.
Don’t let go of Jesus. He will never let go of you.

:signofcross:

go inside the walls of the nearest catholic church you feel comfortable in

sit quietly meditate and pray

i would recommend the rosary
but i know that is not a devotion everyone wants to do

Nobody wants to pray for me??? Where is the love???
We’ll pray for you. It just takes a while between when one writes a message to when it appears on the screen with the other messages. Also, it’s sort of late now. Where I am, it’s after midnight.

Praying.

Just because I don’t type anything doesn’t mean I’m not praying for you. Remember this in the future. Believe, even if you don’t want to believe, pray even if you don’t want to, and may the Lord not only have mercy on you, but on all those who find it hard to believe.

Hal Mary said. I, admittedly for a few hours, was in the same boat. Please go to the nearest Church. Pray for me as well.

Jaysdec,

Praying for you.

Jesus, You are our example!

May we follow you unreservedly in the fullness of Your Church.

May we praise you in Your saints!

Because of the problem of evil…
What about the problem of good? If there is a problem of evil there is also a problem of good.

Christianity answers it with free will, some reject this, without realizing that without free will, they are not free to reject or accept anything by their own argument, as Richard Dawkins say’s, ‘we are just DNA and dance to it’s music’ than he tries to make the case that he is correct, when he has already said that he’s no more than dancing to his DNA.

As another person put it “I believe in God because I believe in free will. If all we are is matter, then all our actions are due to the laws of physics and random movements of particles. The concept of an immaterial soul allows for the possibility of free will. That’s what really allowed me to grab on to faith in God. I made the decision to decide that I had free will. If I am wrong, then nothing really matters and I can’t control my thoughts and ideas anyway.”
and I don’t know if I really believe in God the Father or in the Holy Trinity either…
Any particular reason that’s making you doubt their existence? or is it mainly as per below bad things that have happened or are happening in your life?

If these are some of your reasons for disbelief, I would mention that there exists bad Doctors, Scientists etc, but because there are bad ones doesn’t mean we throw the study and practice of Medicine or Science in the bin.

I would also mention that Judas was also one of the twelve disciples and Christ himself was crucified, which in an ironic way, turns it upside down and makes the cross the center of our faith and the glory of God.

May I ask, have you read the Gospels recently? If not, I would recommend just reading the Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke and John again.

I hope this has helped

God Bless You

Thank you for reading
Josh

Here is something interesting I heard. Maybe I can tell it so it will help you.

Some women and men who are attracted to others at first, find themselves falling out of love. Well, (and this is the part I heard) love is not a feeling at all but a decision. It’s a decision to wake up every day and decide that you still love this person. Through thick and thin, through good times and bad, through sickness and health–you decide you still love this person.

Faith is the same way. You decide you believe. Every day you wake up and decide you believe and it makes you live a certain way. If you decide you believe in God, he will give you more reasons to believe. But first, you have to decide. It’s YOUR free will…

***This made so much sense to me when I looked at myself and my past behaviors. Yes, it’s my choice. Yes, it’s MY decision…

I’m praying for you. Decide for God and watch what he will do for you…
