Lost my faith....I think Im an agnostic and a freethinker now

SOME priests are bad…just as some police officers, some school teachers, some Boy Scout leaders, some politicians, some coaches, etc. are bad. Have you given up on ALL these other institutions because of a few bad apples? Or is it only the Church?

Yes, the problem of Pain/Suffering is a challenge. Not intellectually…that has been answered definitively by Alvin Plantinga. But the experiential problem still exists. Why does it hurt so much?

It may help to consider two points:

a. The chief purpose of life is not happiness but knowledge of God.
b. Mankind is in a state of rebellion against God and His purpose.

Finally, there are many books written on this subject, but one you might take a look at is C.S. Lewis’ The Problem of Pain.

Don’t beat yourself up for trying to get
away from God, the “hounds of heaven”
will not let you go that easy!! I had a
crises of faith when I was suicidal and
in the mental ward of the hospital, but
God came thru after the ordeal, if you
HAD made a covenant w/ God, He is
faithful even tho you are faithless, just
don’t DENY God’s Covenanting, Eternal
and Infinite Love, He DOES love you and
He DID send His Son to die for you, just
REPENT of your believing in satan’s
lie that is clouding your mind and let
Christ shine on you!! Eph 5:14

Yes…I went to mass today and said a perfect act of contrition and prayed a Roaary and a Novena to the Sacred Heart…and Im not agnostic anymore…Catholicism has the best worldview I thi k. Allthough I still dont agree with the church’s teachings on homosexuality, masturbation or pornography…so please continue to keep me in your prayers…thank you…
