Greetings:

My wife and I were married in the church and had our wedding bands blessed at the altar.

After 7 year of marriage, we renovated our basement and bathroom. I remember before I started painting I took off my band and placed it somewhere.

St. Anthony hasn’t help me find it yet, still trying though.

If I dont’ find it, what do I do? I can’t just go to a jewelery store and buy a new one and wear it, what’s the point? It wasn’t the ring I wore when we got married.

Is there a proper protocol for this?

Thanks

Hi,

The wedding band is a symbol of your marriage commitment. Get a new one and ask your priest to bless it. You original ring may be gone, but your commitment is still alive and present. The new ring will represent it just as well as the old one did.
