LOST returns!!!!

I love that show. I wish I had the time to watch it…and remembered when it was on. The life of a college student is crazy, I’m lucky if I get to watch an hour of TV a week (or maybe I’m lucky that I don’t get to watch TV…)

I actually enjoyed the show last night. My wife and I kept looking at each other thinking ‘what is going on?’

It was interesting how they tied Nicky & Paolo to the beginning. We wondered if they were in those scenes and we didn’t recall them. Or if they digitally put them in. Or if they had to reshoot parts of them.

I even remember them going along to the hatch - but I thought they looked different. I didn’t recognize them last night as who they were.

And towards the end when we see what we saw at the beginning, both our eyes were wide when we heard her say paralyzed - instead of Hurley’s “Paolo lies”.

I saw the ending more along the lines of classic Hitchcock. I think we tend to sorta ‘root’ for the people like Nicky & Paolo and forget that they killed a guy in cold blood. Hitchcock always had the murderer being served justice at the end - one way or the other.

If they told us all the secrets, there’d be no show. Are we a bunch of Gen-Xers that need instant gratification? Enjoy the ride. Yeah, some episodes stink. But even though there was nothing added last night to understanding (except the brief instance of Ben talking about manipulation - which we all should’ve figured out already, especially after the submarine incident ), I enjoyed the episode.

I have plenty of patience, but the show is going nowhere. I am close to done, especially after last night and you can count on the fact that I am not the only one who feels that way. The writers have turned their backs on the viewers and have wandered into something that only slightly resembles the original year of the show.

When the show first started I was like, oh great, another new character and another new story and whay a waste of time since there are enough enough. However, the episode, while not solving anything or leading the story along wasn’t terrible like some of the past ones. I thought it was great that they both got what they deserved and were burried alive with the diamonds. Oh, does anyone know if there really is a medusa spider and whether it really will stop your heart beat and all. I’m curious as to how they didn’t realize they were still alive.

I 100% agree with you on not needing instant gratification. Who cares if some major event is not happening in every 5 minutes of the entire hour (a la “Grey’s Anatomy” or “The Real World”)? We should just relax and be a fan of the show. We who like it, appreciate it for what it is…classic drama.

Well Locke has gone through an awful lot at the hands of his dad, so maybe they should remove one finger at a time, then an arm, then another arm, then a leg, then abother leg, and then bury him alive? What do you think?

When the show began there was all sorts of talk that the island was a sort of purgatory, a place of purifying for bad deeds. Now it has turned into a writers team of vigilante justice and it seems to not matter what form the justice takes. No forgiveness, no redemption, just violence, captivity for no real reason, etc.

The show’s writers have totally “lost” their way.

I show is not the faith. It is a tv show, nothing more and nothing less. The writers clearly have no idea where they are going.

I watched an interview with a “Heroes” producer a couple months ago (I can’t stand that show, way to violent). The procuder said that they (the producers and writers of Heroes) did not want to pull a “Lost,” because the entire industry was shocked at how badly the Lost team got off track. If the show does not start answering questions, and start giving a real sense of direction, it will be gone after next season, it has already lost millions of viewers.

I think they deserved it because Paulo knew they would kidnap Jack, Kate, and Sawyer and did nothing. Nikki might not have been as bad, but she still wanted to kill Paulo. Who knows?? They may not be dead yet…

I have no clue what Locke will do to his Dad. I don’t see Locke physically harming him because Locke isn’t that kind of person. Besides…wouldn’t it be something if Locke’s Dad was the one who trained Sawyer how to con people?!?

A couple episodes ago - which now that I think about it, I can’t believe we didn’t talk about it! When we found out Jack and Claire are related! HELLO?!?!

Any way, my wife and I were commenting on how Jack’s dad was so inter-connected. He met Sawyer, Ana Lucia, Claire’s dad, Jack’s dad.

Ok, I looked it up. Yes Lost has dropped quite a few places in ratings sinse last year. Last year as I remember it was the number 7 most watched show. Now it’s number 13. OH MY WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I mean, that dropped soooooo many places.
Phfft, if all shows were so luck to be at number 13 in their 3rd season. I mean, look at Ugly Betty (which I actually don’t watch), it’s in it’s first season and is number 17. Not that that’s bad or anything.
I thought that the last episode was very well done. I’m not saying they deserved what happened to them, but it does show that if your a bad person you might just get a taste of your own medecine. I mean, they murdered someone in cold blood. They got themselves into that mess with the spiders.
Some people must not be watching the show as closely as others, because they’ve answered quite a few questions this season. For one, we know that Jack and Clare are brother and sister, which in my opinion was a biggie. I didn’t expect them to answer that one for a long time.
The creators have said they are going to go for two more seasons, so if they answered every question right now, then they’d be left with no material.
Oh by the way, one of the producers is Catholic. I heard him interviewed on my local Catholic radio station. He said he tries to sneak a bit of his religious beliefs into the show every now and then.
I still consider this the only main stream tv show worth watching. It’s still as good as it was when it started.

He “appeared” to be on life support. Not only that, when Jack found the casket on the island after the crash, …it was empty!

12,340,000 viewers. It does not take a math genius to realize that a full one third of its audience has stopped watching the show–in less then 6 months! If that happens again next year, which I suspect it will, the number will drop to 8-million or under and will be in danger of being cancelled.

There are entire websites that exist to complain about the way the writers have messed-up Lost.

As for the so-called Catholic writer on the show, I am quite certain the Roman Catholic faith does not support the act of burying people alive! No matter what they have done.

They don’t? I knew Catholics were no fun…

To be fair, I don’t suppose the writers do either. Actually, last Wednesday’s episode (28 March) immediately struck me as an homage to old EC horror/suspense comics such as “Tales from the Crypt,” “Crime SuspenStories,” or “The Haunt of Fear”–I wouldn’t be surprised to learn the plot was -]lifted from/-] inspired by an old issue. The story is classic EC: greedy nogoodniks commit murder most foul, surprising reversal of fortune; dishonour among thieves; protagonists come to a gruesome end both ironic and apt (though “condign” is usually too strong a word for the toe-curling fates assigned to the characters).

Here’s hoping Lost regains its creative footing, and viva el Cryptkeeper!
