I lost my rosary that was blessed by a priest. If something were to happen to it would it be my fault? 😊

I should say that I am Methodist, so get what I say confirmed by a Catholic, but—

I can’t imagine how that could be your fault. Its not as though you deliberately did something to it!
If you were saying that you threw it away with the trash, & did so on purpose, that would be misusing a sacramental.
But* losing* a rosary? That is an accidental thing, which clearly has upset you. You weren’t trying to lose or damage your rosary.
Certainly, I would try my best to find such a rosary, but I feel sure that you have done that, and continue to keep an eye out for it.

Do you have another rosary? If not, you can get one, free from rosaryarmy.com/

HTH!!

I love RosaryArmy! I donate to them. I think what they do is so good!

I am one of the people who volunteer to make rosaries for them. They are a wonderful organization…All the prayer that is facilitated by their rosaries!! What a blessing to the world, to share the rosary!!
I am truly humbled by the opportunity to help in their apostolate of prayer…

I tried to follow the paper they sent me but I just can’t get it right! 🤷 I’m not the best with my hands.

Not everyone has that ability, SacredHeartFan. I’m sure if I were to attempt making a rosary, I’d probably mess it up, too. 😊

To reiterate what the poster under you wrote, I wouldn’t worry about something bad happening to you if you simply lost a blessed rosary. It would be something completely different if you happened to toss the rosary in the trash without another thought to it. However, I don’t think God would be offended or cast your soul into eternal hellfire if you lost a sacramental like a rosary completely by accident. Say a prayer to St. Anthony to help you find it; if all else fails, simply get a new one and have the priest bless it.

God’s peace be with you.

Thanks you guys! I have been praying to St. Anthony and he’s got me on the trail. I have this hint that it is at my grandmothers house for some reason.

Is that really a serious question??

Its like suggesting if you do something wrong its your mother’s fault for giving birth to you.

That was a bit uncalled for, thistle. Any Catholic who lost a blessed sacramentary (and understands its importance as a means of bringing us closer to God) unintentionally might worry that they could incur a penalty; I know I would if I were in the position of SacredHeartFan. His worries about the rosary he lost are not entirely unfounded.

SacredHeartFan, do continue to pray to St. Anthony. I’ve prayed to him when I can’t find something that’s important to me, and he has helped me more than once. He is a powerful saint in situations like this; keep praying, he’ll come through for you. :crossrc:

Yes! I also suggest to buy a rosary pouch. I used to lose a couple of rosary but now I have the pouch and I keep my rosary long enough … unless I lose the pouch too. 😃

Pray to **Saint Anthony of Padua **He is especially invoked for the recovery of things lost. He will help you find it, I always ask for his help, and not once has he failed to help me. Though you may not find it quickly it will show up.

A story that happened to me. When I was a child my Dad made me a skate board, it actually was the fastest board, none of my friends boards could compare to it. Well I left it out side in LA and someone stole it, My dad Prayed to Saint Anthony, and when we walked up the hill and started on our way back down it was on the side of the road.

Just know that He will help you, and he will, don’t forget to thank him though after you find it. šŸ™‚

I’m going to my grandmother tommorow to look for it. I’ve been using my dad’s.

At the risk of sounding a little goofy…When I picked up the mail today, there was a little necklace with a St Anthony medal that was in my mail. Not the usual ā€œfrebie that looks like a freebieā€, a really nice one…
Like saying, ā€œSomething lost is going to be foundā€ā€“You know? If so, I hope that it is:thumbsup: šŸ‘ your rosary!!

Sometimes it’s just a nice blessed Rosary that is missing. But what I lost was a beautiful, red one that was a gift for my 60th birthday from a friend, and this was 8 years ago, and St. Anthony was invoked, but I never did find it. I bought another red rosary and had that blessed. I have several blessed rosaries, but I remember that special one I lost and searched for so long. I am hoping that the person who found it is using it. It was not lost at home.

I so relate to what you’re saying.

When my Mom was passing she was afraid. She desperately wanted a rosary. I gave her the one my husband and daughter had given me. It was also red. She couldn’t hold it, so I wrapped it around her arm. I told her that it was full of all the love from my family.

A couple of weeks ago, two days before my birthday, I realized it was missing. I carry it in my pocket, but it wasn’t there. I’ve backtracked everywhere I’ve been. I’ve prayed.

I’ve mourned. It was the last comfort I was ever able to give my Mom. I can’t just get a replacement because in this case, there is no such thing.

We have plenty of rosaries. I can’t help but want that one back.

I just pray that somebody who needs it and uses it has it now.

😃 😃 I FOUND IT!!!😃 😃
It was at my grandma’s the whole time!
