I love the internet age! I came across a few Catholic entries/blogs from twenty somethings today. They inspired me and gave me hope for the future. Having seen a few discussions here in Evangelization about how to reach out to that age group I wanted to know if there were more resources on the web so I googled “Catholic Twenty Something blogs”.
One of the hits took me to an article in America, the National Catholic Review**, **Twenty-somethings and Catholicism: Reflections on the Fordham Conference UPDATED about a day and a half conference which was held about this time two years ago at Fordham University. Intrigued by the article I clicked on the link for the actual conference material. They have videos of the various panel discussions! fordham.edu/cs/LostinVideos.shtml
Scrolling through the options I rested upon this one moderated by James Martin,S.J. “An Inconvenient Church: Reasons to Love or Lose Catholicism”. The panelfocused around reactions to a short video of various 20-somethings “What Twenty-Somethings Are Saying About the Church”. The panelists were asked to comment on one of 3 questions:

*]Do the comments on this video fit your own experience of twenty-something Catholics, either working with them, ministering to them, or being one of them?
*]Was there anything surprising in the video, anything noteworthy?
*]What does it say to the Church?
I certainly had quite a few reactions myself as I watched it! To view the session in sequence start with James Martin, then Dana Dillon, Rev. Beloin, Malik Muhammed, Lisa Cataldo, and end with the panel discussion.
If anyone here truly interested in working on the dilemma of reaching out to that particular age bracket takes the time to peruse these conference videos, I’d love to discuss them here. I’ve just started, so I’m not ready to opine at the moment, but I wanted to get this out here now so we can explore it together.
