LOTH and magnificat publication question

Hello all,

Can anyone offer help in the area of the following questions?
  1. Does reading the morning and evening prayers in the Magnificat publication count as the LOTH in terms of liturgical prayer?
  2. Is it ok to sit saying these prayers at home alone?

Let’s be clear. If you are **under obligation **to pray the Liturgy of the Hours, Magnificat does not suffice. It is greatly condensed and sometimes does not use the same Psalms as the LOTH.

Yes, you may sit, though.
 
As an ordinary lay person, the prayers in the Magnificat are sufficient. And you may sit as you say them.

If you have joined a confraternity or 3rd order of some kind, you need to abide by their guidelines for what you should pray and what posture you should use while praying.
