LOTH: Sunday Office Reading - Te Deum

I am one who does the Office Readings in the Liturgy of the Hours every day. On Sundays, I instinctively do the Te Deum.

However, today I noticed that it was not marked to be done after the Responsory. I checked the guide and it is not marked there either for the whole period of Lent.

I then checked the Ordinary and it only states it is done for “the Octave of Easter, Sundays of Easter, solemnities, and feasts”.

I checked the other 3 volumes that they have it being said on all other Sundays.

Has anyone else noticed that or do we get in such a routine that we ignore little things like this?

Well, back to finishing my Morning Prayers.

From the General Instruction of the Liturgy of the Hours:
  1. On Sundays outside Lent, on days within the octaves of Easter and Christmas, and on solemnities and feasts the Te Deum is said after the second reading with its responsory but is omitted on memorials and weekdays. The last part of this hymn, that is, from the verse, Save your people, Lord to the end, may be omitted.
 
It should then be pointed out that every Sunday is a solemnity. The Te Deum, therefor, should be sung.

Not during Lent. For the same reason the Gloria is suppressed at Mass.

That’s why the general instruction is specific: On Sundays outside of Lent.

That volume only has Lent and Easter, right? So that volume is just going to say “Sundays of Easter” since the only other Sundays in the volume are Lenten Sundays.
