I am posting this as a new thread because it wasn’t possible to reply to Tahira on the forum, or even send it as a personal message, because Tahira’s personal message space is full. So, hopefully, Tahira will see this and get the message. Here goes:
This is a reply to this posting by Tahira:
Hi
I Wonder if you can help me. Do you think that god can give satan another chance? satan made a big mistake and he is truely sorry for what he did, do you think that god could forgive him? Do you think that it is possible that i could be satan? If I am i am very sorry for everything.
Please reply back I would really appreciate it.
Thank you
My reply:
Satan was an angel (Lucifer). According to my Catholic education, angels are inferior to humans, therefore, they don’t have the same considerations by God given to humans. They are incapable of sin. They have no free will, as humans do. Angels were created by God for one purpose only: to serve man. Therefore, it is impossible for you to BE satan. You may be POSSESSED by satan. This is how he takes human form. In which case, I would suggest seeking out a priest who specializes in exorcism.
But satan is a fallen angel that somehow escaped the control of God, refusing to serve man and has become pure evil. This is one of the great mysteries. I have a theory that God allowed it to happen to make possible the physical appreciation of Love by humans. I think that God saw that Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden really couldn’t fully appreciate what they had. It would be impossible for us to really appreciate Love without evil. How would we recognize Love without evil for comparison? God realized this after he created man, and allowed Lucifer to serve this role. So in a paradoxical way, in Lucifer’s rebellion against serving man, he serves man more than anything else, by making it possible for man to truly Love. It gives a whole new meaning to “God works in strange ways”, doesn’t it? I know, it’s not a perfect theory, but I’m still working on it through meditation and prayer. The universe wasn’t created in a day, you know.
So in that sense the question of God “forgiving” Lucifer becomes irrelevant. Lucifer’s pure evil is a creation of God to make Love tangibly possible for humans to experience. The experience of pure Love without the presence of pure evil is only possible in heaven, with the knowledge God has always had, even before the creation of man.
I hope this clears up your confusion rather than confusing you even more.
May God be with you.
