"Love is the bond" - Sister Lucia of Fatima

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The final words in Chapter 17 of Sister Lucia’s book, “Calls” From the Message of Fatima are these:

“Love is the bond which must bind us close to God and to our neighbors, identifying us with the Heart of Christ, plunging us into the Heart of God, so that our will is His and our one yearning is to be in full possession of His Love”

On this Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, I pray that all of us may hear Jesus’ words spoken from His Heart: “Behold Your Mother”. If we are to learn how to love as human persons, we need to “Behold” by faith this Mother Jesus has given us and to learn from her how a human person can love as Jesus loves. Mary is Mother and Model of the Church. She is all we are called to be as Church. Mary shows us how to continually say, “Yes” to God’s Will – believing that “Nothing is impossible with God”!
