**Lost Sheep **
"So Jesus addressed this parable to them.
“What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them
would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
And when he does find it,
he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
and, upon his arrival home,
he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’
I tell you, in just the same way
there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine righteous people
who have no need of repentance."
Craving for attention,
I remember a three-year old,
snuggled close to her teacher,
purposely misbehaved a little,
so she could hear her name called.

Reading about the lost sheep
and the extra cradle it gets,
I am tempted to be like the three-year old.
Running away and returning
so to have more joy in heaven.

Then there comes the whisper,
“My child,
you have never lacked my attention!”
Shaking off the reverie,
I go back to my recollection.

Our Father

Our Father,
who brings the family together,
you realize our relationship
with heaven and earth.

Who art in heaven,
watches over us,
takes charge,
and gives blessings.

Hallowed be thy name.
All bow down to your holy name.
the precious and sacred name.
Blessed be your name forever.

Thy kingdom come,
thy ruling come to my life.
Imprint your commands,
and carve your words in my heart.

Thy will be done,
your will is the ultimate best.
Your wisdom has no comparison.
I desire nothing but your will.

On earth as it is in heaven,
O Lord, ensure your will is carried out.
Allow not our mistakes
to interfere your holy plan.

Give us this day our daily bread.
You are our only source
our sole provider.
Fulfill all our needs.

And forgive us our trespasses.
Give us the spirit of humility,
hearts of perfect contrition,
for all our wayward passions.

As we forgive
those who trespassed against us.
For we are all sinners.
Have mercy on us all.

Lead us not into temptation,
Hold our hands and direct us.
Shield us from enticement,
help us with our weaknesses.

But deliver us from evil.
Guide us, guard us,
Protect us, rescue us,
Keep us safely in your arms.

Take Heart

“Take heart”, thus says the Lord.
In this earthly life,
we may have many fears.
But, “It is I, do not fear.”

For the fear of danger,
“I am the good Shepherd.”
For the fear of sickness,
“I am the Lord who heals thee.”

For the fear of rejection,
“God has chosen me.”
For the fear of failure,
“God is my strength.”

For the fear of uncertainty,
“Be not anxious about tomorrow.”
For the fear of loneliness,
“The Lord is with me always.”

The Lord is my help and my light,
whom shall I fear?
He shall strengthen my heart.
I am strong and of good courage.

“Take heart”, thus says the Lord.
In this earthly life,
we may have many fears.
But, “It is I, do not fear.”

I Can’t Stop Loving You

I can’t stop loving you,
and I don’t want to.
Ever since we met,
you always linger in my heart.

Day in and day out,
I offer you my life,
my words, my thoughts,
my works, my prayers and all.

The sunshine reminds me
of your brightness.
The breeze reminds me
of your gentleness.

The flowers remind me
of your fragrance.
The birds remind me
of your freedom.

The trees remind me
of your wonder.
The mountains remind me
of your majesty.

In busyness or
in quietness,
in joy or in distress,
you are always with me.

Your real presence
is not any imagination.
Your tender loving care
is a true confirmation.

You are the good shepherd,
the faithful friend,
the loving spouse,
the Redeemer, the Savior, my Lord!

I can’t stop loving you,
and I don’t want to.
Ever since we met,
you always linger in my heart.

Praise the Lord

I want to praise the Lord.
In his Holy place, I praise Him.
I want to praise the Lord.
In the nature, I praise Him.

I want to praise the Lord.
With a song, I praise Him.
I want to praise the Lord.
In my soul, I praise Him.

I want to praise the Lord.
In truth and spirit, I praise Him.
I want to praise the Lord.
In awe and wonder, I praise Him.

I want to praise the Lord.
In day and night, I praise Him.
I want to praise the Lord.
In light and darkness, I praise Him.

I want to praise the Lord.
In joy and distress, I praise Him.
I want to praise the Lord.
In longing and waiting, I praise Him.

Halleluiah, praise the Lord!

Morning Star In My Heart

Like a morning star
rises before daybreak,
sparkling through the long night sky,
lighting up clouds in the darkness,
your word is the lamp before my feet,
the light on my journey.

From up high you see the end from start.
You know where each road leads to.
Whether the path is twisted or straight,
your wisdom guides my step,
your Way leads my way,
your Faith strengthens my faith.

Where else can I find the everlasting truth?
To whom should I go but you?
You are the morning star in my heart,
only your word gives hope and strength.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
None besides you delights me on earth.

Faces in the Subway
* - remembering a trip to D.C.*

Praying Rosary in the subway,
while waiting for the coming train,
many faces pass around me,
each unique in expression.

From the different complexions,
I see frowning and smiling.
But all have the same expectation,
waiting to reach their destination.

As the beads flow through my fingers,
thoughts are running to Calvary.
In my observation and recollection,
Christ is perceived in my vision.

Knowing they all carry Your image,
and the command has been taught,
it is still a hard call
to love them all.

I can only pray for Your grace
to be kind to each face.
Have mercy on my weak heart,
for I can’t do it without Your Spirit.

Long Long Ago

Gliding on the wings of memory,
my mind flies back to long long ago.
On the trails that lead to old places,
footsteps are marked for traces.

For remembrances in the valley,
I used to avert them with low tally.
An unpleasant test
could awaken pains in the past.

But after forming a deeper love with Jesus,
I came to cherish what I once detested.
How precious that at certain moments,
I was given to share some agony of my Lord.

In retrospect, I offer up all my sufferings.
Uniting them with His Passion,
awkwardness turns into grace.
Bitterness and sweetness join since.

Going through time’s tunnel,
Recollection comes through a long channel.
Seeing the Lord’s footprints on each stage,
all discontent reconciles in His sage.

Rain in the Forest

The rain in the forest last night,
washed all the mountains fresh clean.
The birds are singing on the branches
rejoicing with all the trees green.

The sky looks high and serene,
clouds float lightly in the scene.
The sun shines brighter after it rains.
All is renewed to be seen.

Before the day was dawning,
when rain kept pouring,
in the cold darkness,
peace was shaken weak.

Why did my heart doubt
when He remains in silence.
The sun is always there,
though the rain may appear.

With earnest prayers and trust
the Lord is bound to hear.
Let the heart fill with joy,
even in the endurance of toil.

Lily of the Valley

Lord, you are the lily of the valley.
You are the purity.
You are the bright morning star.
You are my light.

Lord, you are the river in the desert.
You are the hope.
You are the road in the wilderness.
You are my help.

Lord, you are the shepherd lays down his life.
You are the Savior.
You are the only Goodness.
You are my Redeemer.

Lord, you are the creator my God.
You are the master.
You are the great physician who heals.
You are my healer.

Lord, you are the wisest teacher.
You are the wisdom.
You are the real God, real man.
You are my most intimate friend.

Lord, you are the loving spouse.
You are Love.
You are the only satisfaction.
You are my life.

Lord, I love you so much.
I want to be with you always.
You are the lily of the Valley.
Everybody ought to know.

Returning

We have searched all the mountains and seas,
longing to know the truth of life.
But times and again we get disappointed,
knowing life is just like this.

Until one day you come,
meet us on the way.
You show us Your Sacred Heart,
We are absorbed into your sweetness.

We see your glory of resurrection,
know that you have been crowned with thorns,
for the nail marks are still obvious.
Our hearts weep for your deep love.

Your Cross is the way of our return.
Your blood brings salvation did not earn.
Your wounds become our hiding place.
We adore your holy face.

Now we are enjoying the lovely you,
know that you are our living God.
Like a little stream flows into the vast sea,
we lose ourselves in your infinity.

Sunflower🙂

She is always facing the sun,
letting the shadows fall behind.
Wherever the sun moves,
her head turns accordingly.

Her face is forever heavenward.
In the warmness she is bathing,
she renews her strength without ceasing,
her position remains seeking.

Like the sunflower’s loving traits,
also ought to be our living faith.
With the truth we’ve already found,
let our hearts remain searching.

The sunflower is blooming for light.
We thrive for our Delight.
The love of Lord and neighbor,
brings us together with his favor.

Like the sunflower faces the sun,
we fix our eyes on the Son.
The mystery of the sunflower’s loyalty,
serves as a model for our fidelity.

In Touch
- for penitential spirit of Advent

At the end of the day,
I quiet my mind.
Searching inward,
I sense a gentle touch
from you who abide.

A sentiment of awe
intensifies your presence.
In the stillness of the soul,
I lay myself transparent,
leave nothing in hide.

Catching a weeping sensation,
my heart is full of love.
In the center of my brokenness
comes the genuine contrition
with a need of confession.

It is your great Passion
awakens my conviction.
I am created for repentance,
with all the daily crosses
and a forever need of redemption.

Your forgiveness soothes my wounds.
Your amazing grace
deepens my penance.
Offering up thanksgiving
I step into rebirth.

Thy Kingdom

In your Kingdom all is at peace.
Joys never cease.
There is no struggle in unity,
no rivalry or jealousy but charity.

During this life of exile,
I long for the truth of your Kingdom.
With each of my human weakness,
I desire your ruling for the bleakness.

Only with loving obedience
I may reach heaven’s life on earth.
But my limitation within
fails me for giving perfect love.

I pray as each day go by,
I may just love a little bit more.
Help me take off myself,
and put on the attributes of Christ.

So I may reflect your radiance
as a true child of light.
I pray for thy Kingdom come,
in your image I may become.

Moment of Awe

When the bell rings,
the moment of awe begins.
With all eyes gazing,
the bread and wine become amazing.

My heart still cannot absorb
even after so many witnesses.
But beyond any shadow of doubt,
I know what the miracle is about.

There can be no greater love,
that after His Crucifixion
He grants us transubstantiation.
Our salvation is ever present.

Words can never explain
about the lamb’s slain.
How profound His love is!
His body and blood is our forever gain.

Kneeling after receiving,
hiding my face in open palms,
I am so touched by the Communion,
humbled by the union.

How does the worthy Lamb
come into someone as unworthy as I am?
With teary eyes,
my soul weeps.

Forgive me my sins, O Lord.
Help me to love you more.
Let this holy moment linger,
and your grace last forever!

Bow and Arrow

Parents are the bow,
children are arrows.
A full bow shoots with all its might
helping arrows fly far.
In spite of the sting of separation,
there is pride and satisfaction.

Life is a process of letting go,
From a child’s first day of school,
to leaving for college….
Even if I wish my children to stay,
there is nothing I can say.
I just have to let them go.

When I feel lonely or sad,
when I miss my children bad,
I turn to my Lord in prayers.
He is forever with me
and with my loved ones too.
In Him we are together.

As a loving parent,
wouldn’t my heavenly Father be lonely?
He sends me from heaven to earth,
grants me my independence.
But I am never really far apart,
as my children are always in my heart.

Confession

Penance is a healing Sacrament.
It should never be absent.
Run to the mercy of God,
never run away from it.

You may be wondering,
why do I want to confess?
If you think of humility,
you will understand what I profess.

Humbling myself,
and seeking the light from above,
I see Jesus’ great Passion
in an unutterable fashion.

Knowing his love and my offense,
how can I repress?
There is an abundant grace
in that confessional place.

With a genuine contrition,
I express my honest self.
Giving my resolution,
I receive the absolution.

Getting so close to God,
Peace and love flourish.
Joy rises from my heart,
I am glad I did my part.

From offense to grace,
from alienation to union,
confession is a gift,
a practical shift.

Run to the mercy of God,
never run away from it.
Penance is a healing Sacrament.
It should never be absent.

Amazing Grace

It is hard to comprehend,
the sacrifices the Lord withstands.
Being my best friend,
He loves me without end.

How does the infinite Word
incarnate into a tiny seed,
confine Himself in the flesh,
be born as a poor baby child?

Dying brutally on the Cross,
He has mended my loss.
Laying His life down,
the salvation is found.

With the Holy Spirit,
and the body of Christ,
His presence is ever intimate.
How could anyone not appreciate?

Awesome is the amazing grace,
we should always give our praise.
In His sweet loving gaze,
our hope of eternity rises.

The King’s Child

I am the King’s child,
the apple of His eyes.
He redeems me with His royal blood,
purchases me with a high price.

He calls me by my name,
asks me to follow Him.
His light never goes dim,
His kingdom I can claim.

Though the pilgrimage is long,
I am not afraid of going wrong.
Disciplines come along,
for the good Shepherd is around.

He corrects me with His staff,
comforts me with His rod.
In His holiness I gain my strength.
He leads me to the right path.

He answers my prayers,
gives me all good things.
His heavenly treasures are mine,
His blessings always so fine.

With joy, peace and hope,
He gives me everlasting life.
He immerses me in majestic love.
I am the King’s child.

Holy Day

On the day of Immaculate Conception,
my heart is full of elation.
After the morning Mass,
there is a whole day Adoration.

The sun shines through the stained glasses,
Jesus rests on the gold Monstrance.
Being in front of His Holy Presence,
I am thrilled with the divine intimacy.

Rainbow shadows reflect on the floor,
the flickering candles silently consume.
People kneel and adore,
white roses spread sweet perfume.

When my prayers go up with the incense,
thoughts gradually suspense.
As peace and joy fulfill,
how I wish time could stand still!
