It’s not the administrator’s right to judge you.
Each of us are called in different ways.
Our call comes from God.
When the woman who organized everything in a former parish, including the priest himself, and who proof read his homilies, was trying to force me into more than I was already doing,
in my distress, knowing I didn’t have time or energy to do all she wanted,
I spoke to a Jesuit priest.
“Trishie, he said, you are just a little ant, and if you try to carry too much you will be crushed.”

An amusing analogy, because an ant can carry around ten times her own weight…
and also amusing that he saw me as a humble tiny ant.
Not a butterfly, a mouse, a bird, a horse, I’m an ant! (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

God bless your mother, and God bless you both for your loving care of her

I find your post heartbreaking. I am so sorry that anyone would find it their place to make such an insensitive remark to you about the wonderful care you are giving your mom. It most certainly is charity of the truest kind. Keep up the good work and know that you don’t need anyone to validate what you already know in your heart.

I kept smacking my screen with a tissue trying to kill the bug on it. haha:rofl:

I was just thinking tonight how I feel bad about not participating with anything at our parish. I take care of my 93 year old mother with dementia. My mother was always involved and helping the ladies out with various church fundraisers. I just returned to the church a few years ago. I would love to help out, but my mother needs me now. She gets anxious when I am gone for awhile.

You have your priorities right. Charity begins at home.

Charity in many ways is how much we can give in the situation which we are in, which differs from individual to individual. Caring for your aged mother which requires your time and effort is very much a work of charrity for you. Take confidence that God will bless you greatly for your love and devotion to your mother.

God bless.
