Low Mass and High Mass?

Does anyone know the difference between a Low Mass and a High Mass
 
The Solemn High Mass is more grander while the Solemn Low Mass isn’t as grand and benevolent.

These terms pertain only to the Extraordinary Form. There is no distinction between types of Mass in the Ordinary Form.

Solemn Mass (Missa Solemnis) is the full form of Mass, with a priest, deacon, and subdeacon. Incense is required, and so is having a choir sing the responses, propers, and ordinary.

Missa Cantata, often called High Mass or Sung Mass, is a truncated form of Solemn Mass, and is the same, except there is no Kiss of Peace, deacon, or subdeacon.

Low Mass (Missa Lecta) is the most common Mass celebrated, though it is not the norm. It is recited rather than sung, and therefore the choir has no role other than optionally to sing hymns.

While I completely agree with you, I have seen it applied to OF very often and the understanding is basically clear.

A ‘low’ OF Mass, while not a proper Church term, means typically the basic week day Mass or the occasional Sunday Mass that for varies reason is stripped down to the essentials; as often seen during important football games.
